The Olight Oclip Ultra is a great light. I already had the version with the red flashing light, I think the black light is more functional for everyday use. Battery holds a charge a long time, magnet is useful and strong enough to hold the light, and there is also a clip. It might be a little big for my pocket, I prefer a small penlight for that. But it's 100% EDC friendly and could be carried for sure. It fits well in my hand and the controls are well place, would recommend.

I saw that Olight came out with a new Oclip Ultra model that was brighter and had a UV feature, and I bought one. I charged it up, and was very disappointed when I turned it on. I compared it side by side with my Oclip Pro model and saw the Ultra model wasn't nearly as bright. The Pro model was a LOT brighter. I first thought that I might have gotten a defective one, and then remembered they had adjustable brightness. I turned both up to their brightest settings, and WOW! Both are very bright, with the Ultra model being slightly brighter. Definitely enough light! Having both spot and flood modes is great! I find the controls very easy to use, and the lockout function is really nice if I'm carrying it in a pocket and concerned about inadvertently turning it on. I find the magnetic back to be very handy. When I'm doing something where there is a drop ceiling (like my basement), it sticks to the ceiling metal on the tile borders nicely to provide an impromptu overhead light. The magnet is also great when working around the cars. Olight also sells a headband accessory with tilt function to turn these into a head lamp. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT ACCESSORY! These lights charge up pretty fast. The manual says an hour and a half, but I've never had to wait that long. My experience is about a half hour at most. I make it a habit not to run batteries completely dead - I remember hearing that Lithium batteries could be damaged by doing that, so I don't do it. All in all, both of these lights are fantastic, and I'd have a hard time choosing a favorite. The red on the Pro preserves night vision, and the UV on the Ultra serves its purpose well. Shine a UV light on your drivers license or passport (or even US currency) for a neat surprise. Postmarks on envelopes are sometimes stamped with ink that's only visible using UV, and UV great for seeing just how clean something really is. UV opens up a whole new world of things you can't see under regular visible light. These lights might seem a little pricey, but they're extremely well built, very durable, and come with a lifetime warranty. I have several Olights, and don't have any regrets for buying any of them. If your planning to get one, I recommend buying it it from Amazon. If you're not thrilled with it, Amazon has a great return policy. I've bought a couple lights directly from Olight, and find Amazon's prices better, delivery times faster, and tech support directly from Olight is still available if you need it. I uploaded 4 pictures with this review - Olight Ultra is on top, Pro below it. The keyboard pictures show a numeric keypad with normal light, and then with UV light. Nice for seeing just how "clean" something really is. It reveals residue that isn't visible otherwise. This little light is definitely a winner for me!

Update: Contacted OLight warranty department and filed a claim on their website. They almost immediately accepted the claim and emailed me a return label. They sent out the replacement before I even mailed the defective unit back to them. They handled the situation extraordinarily well. 5 stars again. Just stinks about the first unit, but I guess it happens sometimes. New one is still going strong so far. Edit: So that did not last long. Started having serious issues with the thing. Loss of the highest brightness setting. Charging issues. Device would power on and off by itself. Would not take user inputs and do it's own thing. Awaiting response from warrant department at OLight. From 5 to 3 until I hear back and see how it's handled. OK, I am always super suspicious of these little EDC / tactical gear trinket type things. Usually they're junk and not worth half the price. This thing is totally different. First of all it's well built. It feels sturdy. I'm not going to test it, but it honestly feels solid enough to drop it from at least a couple of meters and it would have no problems. It has a Low / High / Who needs eyes anyway? brightness setting. Seriously though, this thing punches well above its weight for it's size. I was not expecting it to be that bright. The floodlight illuminates a decent portion of your field of view. The spotlight shines pretty far. The UV is very cool. This is like one of the only marketed EDC gear pieces I've bought and instantly loved. This thing is awesome. It has a USB-C charger that has a cover over it. I haven't tested the battery life yet. I might let it run down on the ultra-bright mode just to see what I could get out of it. The low setting is also very low. Great for in your tent or reading a map or something without blinding yourself. The thing is genuinely awesome and I would definitely purchase one again. I'm going to check out the sellers other products just because of how cool and worthwhile this thing actually is. I love it. 10/10 would buy again.

I'm a tool and flashlights snob, so I hold my tools and lights to a very high standard. This light does not disappoint. Well made, easy to change modes, excellent functionality, strong clip and magnetic base and battery has great runtime and recharging is fast and easy. Also waterproof and tough. Use it all the time and has never let me down. I have a lot of expensive lights and this is the most flexible and useful especially for its size. Great light.

I like everything about this light. It’s clear and bright with multiple lighting options. The clip is strong and dependable. The magnet is very strong for its size. It’s easy to use. I would have given it a perfect five stars, however the price point is just a bit high in my opinion.

What a neat little flashlight! The clip is strong and has a rubber grip on both sides, so I don't see this getting knocked loose easily. The UV lamp is something I didn't know I needed until I had it, just going around the house in the dark led to some startling discoveries... use it in your living space at your own peril! The power of the light output for each mode is surprisingly good for such a tiny thumb-sized device, definitely doesn't feel like you're struggling to see anything. Flood, searchlight, and UV light in one along with turbo, moonlight, strobe, and beacon modes makes this amazingly functional. The rotary switch with integral power button makes it dead-simple to use and change on the fly as needed. If you are on the fence about this device, you shouldn't be. Easily a top 100 lifetime purchase for me and I'd replace it in a heartbeat if it got lost. All photos attached were taken in a pitch-black basement. 5 month update: Still loving it but I did want to update this with a warning. The light is small and the output is high. I had this on turbo mode and set it face down for a moment on a wooden stand to free a hand up. Within a few seconds the light had left a scorch mark on the wood and wisps of smoke were rising from it, so be careful! If this lights up in a pocket or something more flammable that could be a real problem. I'm not knocking any points off for this as I'm not sure how they could address this without reducing the turbo mode and increasing the depth of the light assembly which would make it larger. Just make a habit of using the lock-out function if you keep it in your pocket... hold the power button down so moonlight mode comes on and keep holding the power button until it shuts back off. This will put it in lock-out so it won't come on with a simple press until you repeat the process.

This light is absolutely amazing. I work as a truck driver at night and this light doesn't disappoint. Its bright for its size and lasts a long time on one charge. Of course this light isn't designed for heavy duty use. Like caving or long term night time hiking. Its meant to be a utility light like for around the house or a quick light up out on the field. I like thats its small and light weight and easy to pocket carry. The only downside is it doesn't have a red light but has a UV light instead witch would be useful because I have gotten into situations where I needed a UV light. Overall I recommend this light for anyone who's a flashlight fanatic to add to their collection.
