Description

The BALDR Mini is an ultra-compact white light and green beam combo, integrating the compatibility of the PL-Mini 2 and the accuracy of the BALDR Pro. Two types of rail adapters are provided to fit both Glock and Picatinny rails. Featuring an adjustable sliding rail, the light can be easily adjusted forward and backward into the position that suits you the best. Though at a compact form factor, it delivers 600 lumens of bright white light, along with highly visible green beam for greater accuracy. You can select among white light, green beam, or green beam & white light combined. The BALDR Mini is powered by a built-in lithium polymer battery, which can be charged through our signature magnetic charging port for extended runtime. The quick attach and release mount and the slim switch make the BALDR Mini extremely easy to manipulate for everyone. I have this installed on my M&P Shield 40 Cal (California Version) and while it fits perfectly on the rail of this firearm, I chose to install it on the Recover Tactical SHR9 Picatinny Rail https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JDBW7YD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fab_ZIvEFbJVM5B2V (mainly because the picatinny rail looks so nice on this firearm). As far as holsters, I recommend the Clip Draw which is an awesome holster less solution. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014WNAL1I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fab_SJvEFbD6GHNS3 Update 10-28-2020 I took my M&P shooting in AZ recently. The OLIGHT Baldr Mini fell off the pistol and into the dirt after some 20 rounds through the M&P Shield 40. I cleaned off the OLIGHT Baldr Mini and reattached it to the M&P Shield 40, however, again the light flew off from the recoil hitting the shooter in the head. I also found (and in defense of the OLIGHT) that the attached Clipdraw loosed up as well. I have since tightened the OLIGHT Baldr Mini light and Clip Draw (the Clip Draw may need lock tight). I will test again at the range and report back. Finally, drawing the M&P from IWB position causes the OLIGHT Baldr Mini fastener to snag on my clothing, open up, and the light to fall off the rail and into my pants or shorts. At times, I have inadvertently engaged the OLIGHT in IWB conceal mode (not good). I would recommend to the manufacturer that the locking mechanism for the OLIGHT Baldr Mini include a cover (or something) to prevent it from snagging and opening on an IWB draw. I would also recommend a tighter activation switch or perhaps a cover or different location for the switch to prevent accidental activation on IWB carry. Aside from the obvious problems with this, on occasion I have found the battery dead as a result of accidently activating the light switch with IWB carry. All in all this is an excellent light, and the circumstances described above may or may not be unique to me. ... show more

Really nice piece of hardware. Upgraded from the PL-Mini 2 and it's only slightly thicker and longer, although it still won't go past the barrel on a Glock 19. Laser dot is crisp and doesn't have any flaring if the glass is kept clean. Makes the gun look really good. The light compared to the PL-Mini 2 has a more pure white hue rather than a slightly yellow hue. Couple of gripes though. The laser moves around a little bit when manipulating controls and on the mount, so you won't be able to hold momentary and have the point of impact be consistent as the dot will move up and distance will exacerbate the inaccuracy. However, for home defense situations, I'd say its more than accurate enough to hit a human-size target reliably. When toggled on, I was consistently hitting on or very close to the laser dot at 45 ft. I also wish the laser adjustment screws would have more resistance so that it would be more fine tuning, but it just means you'll have to be more careful while zeroing. I zeroed it to my Holosun 508T and it shot true on the first try. Overall, I'd say it's a solid buy, though you may want to wait for the occasional OLIGHT sales. ... show more

Solid construction, fast charging ~35 min., bright light that maintains brightness for well over 2 min., great battery life, tight fit on rail with just a touch of play in slider if twisted hard, so not an issue. Ergonomic switches, and the momentary option is great, just practice so you know the difference between momentary (hold switch for more than a touch) and on (just tap switch). Laser is bright with a tight beam, magnetic charging is great. As an afterthought decided I wanted a holster for the gun with the light attached, lucky I bought the Olight Balder mini, Craft Holsters will make a OWB leather holster that fits!, just contact their customer support and order a holster for your gun and select the Olight PL mini 2 Valkyrie option and then in the note field put +Olight Balder mini (very close in size to PL mini 2 Valkyrie). And just set the laser to align with my sights, have not taken to range and really do not see the need to. Also like the fact that the Balder mini does not extend below the trigger guard since I have long fingers and a light that extended lower would get in the way. ... show more
