Description

The Streamlight TLR-7 X features multi-fuel capability powered by either one (1) CR123A or one (1) Streamlight SL-B9 lithium-ion rechargeable battery pack, (sold separately), both delivering 500 Lumens and 5,000 Candela. The integrated rail clamp is designed to rapidly attach/detach from the side of the weapon, providing smooth installation and removal without having to put your hands in front of the muzzle. Customizable rear paddle switches, momentary and constant on operation, and a proGrammable strobe mode offer additional versatility for many tactical applications.

Streamlight features a dizzying array of options for weapon-mounted tactical lights, so the available choices can make picking the one that's "just right" very daunting. In terms of lights for mounting on the "picatinny" rail of pistols, there are basically two different categories: lights that use two batteries (typically longer/bigger/brighter) and lights that use one battery (shorter/smaller/not as bright). This particular light also comes in two varieties: one that uses only a standard CR123 battery, and this one, that comes with a USB-rechargeable battery made by Streamlight. You can use either this battery, or a standard CR123 if you prefer. The Streamlight rechargeable battery has to be removed from the light housing to be charged ... from a standard USB-C socket built into the battery case itself ... a little weird, but it works fine. As for me, I narrowed my search down to this light because I wanted a light that was compact (I did NOT want a bulky light that hangs out past the end of the muzzle, and am NOT interested in mounting a "searchlight" on a pistol that can illuminate a whole football field), and just gives me a simple, reasonably bright light that's securely attached to the pistol itself, and immediately ready for "one-hand" use in the event of any rapid-response emergency in a dark environment. This light is perfect for that in all respects. It's compact, fits perfectly under the barrel of a full-size pistol (no extension beyond end of muzzle), easily activated from either left or right side of the trigger guard with a touch of your finger. In terms of brightness, this light produces 500 lumens (roughly the equivalent of the light produced by a 50-watt incandescent bulb, or a 5-watt LED), but the focus of the beam makes the actual illumination area a lot brighter than that. It's like a little spot light, with a halo of ambient light extending outward from the main beam, and can be continuously operated for about an hour on a single recharge cycle (or life of a standard CR123 battery). In complete, or near-complete darkness, at an average threat "contact" range of 10-50 feet (and you're not going to want/need to fire any pistol any farther than 50 feet in the dark), 500 lumens will definitely allow you to quickly identify, fully illuminate, and "zero" your threat/target. The light is built like a little tank, and comes with a variety of adapters to ensure proper fitment on the mounting rail of your pistol. I think this model was designed to be adaptable to a very large variety of pistols, and it fit mine (S&W M&P full size 9mm) right out of the box. The more "standard" your rail, the more likely this light will work for you, but buyers should note that Streamlight offers a bunch of more-specialized versions of its lights that are made for specific pistol models, so be sure you're getting the right one for your particular pistol. Excellent product for Small EDC system use. Functions exceptionally well and the switch to turn on is very easy to access for on off. Easy install and easy battery replacement well worth the money. Extremely bright in low light areas, compact and does not add significant weight to my EDC platform.

Firstly, this light has exceeded my expectations. It's very heavy duty & with the two sets of paddles that take less than 30 seconds to change makes it easy to use. I put this on a Springfield XD 9 & it fits perfectly. ( For those reviews stating their package was missing the universal #1, it's not. It's already mounted in the light ) I have an Olight that is an awesome light & extremely bright & have no complaints other than this streamlight fits so much better. ( Moved the Olight to an AR-15 & its great ) I will however only purchase Streamlight weapon lights going forward. Streamlight it just a superior product all the way around. Switchable paddles, fits perfectly, has a safety feature where you turn the head of the light about a 1/4 to a detent so it doesn't accidentally get turned on & great for peace of mind knowing my battery is being drained when not in use. Lastly one of the best features is that you can turn the strobe feature on or off with a certain sequence of pressing & holding either side to reprogram. Very impressed, only purchasing streamlight from now on, totally worth the money, you definitely don't feel like you've paid to much. I've had no issues with performance & I've noticed although this light weighs about what you'd expect ( not to heavy but no light either ) it balances the front a little bit better with that added weight it improved the muzzle flip which wasn't bad to begin with, but it helped a little. Highly recommend this light to anyone on the fence about spending a little extra for a quality light. You won't be disappointed. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Pros: Excellent everyday carry (EDC) light! This TLR-7 X is seriously bright for its size. The low-profile fit on my compact pistol is perfect, keeping the overall footprint minimal. Charging via USB is a huge plus for convenience no more swapping CR123As constantly.
