    • Ideal for Calico Bass fishing but can also handle larger fish like Yellowtail.
I was really looking for the Komodo SS 450 but they don't carry it. Somewhat of a let down. I like the larger handle. Makes it much easier to reel in. I would recommend this reel for bass fishing in the ocean and fresh water.

    • Absolutely amazing reel.
Absolutely amazing reel.. I have it paired with an 8’6 extra heavy shimano Compre rod.. I do a ton of flathead fishing. Caught a 40lber last year and paired with my rod, I had him in the net within 5 minutes.. power handle is important for large fish.. the drag system is flawless, I run 60lb braid, I recommend backing the spool with monk if you use braid just bc the braid will slip under tension. The 6 brake system is pretty neat and works well, though kind of a pain having to pull the cover off to get to the brakes.. I only use 3 of them and have never once had a backlash throwing about 10-14oz of weight/bobber/live bait.. I’ll be buying another one this summer for my warrior cat rod.. HIGHLY RECCOMEND this reel! ... show more
