Was looking for a nice light smaller reel for my Okuma SST-C-762la, and all reviews I read said this was the reel to get. Gave it a try and the moment I paired it with that rod, I knew I had my “perfect” combo (perfect until I find something I like better) for trout and Kokanee trolling, as well as casting or back bouncing. For all the features it comes with, I thought the price was good. Simple reel like any other, nice smooth retrieve, and has the line counter. I was never one who cared about line counters, usually just went by feel and adjusted everything as needed. With the line counter, I still do the same but, now when I find that sweet spot I have a little more “data” to refer to to get all my lines as close as possible to that same strike zone. Time will tell how it really works but, I have some high hopes and can’t wait to really put it to use. ... show more

Purchased to put on a G Loomis E6X for Salmon, Halibut and lingcod fishing. I like how low profile it is with the line counter it's a hybrid of a bait caster and trolling reel, I can run spinner, jigs to mooching rigs. Hold almost 300yrds of 40lb braid which is perfect for my setup. Water will get on the inside especially on some rough seas but rinsing and lubricating the reel correctly with prevent any corrosion. Over I'm very pleased and will consider this reel again for my other salmon rods. ... show more

After over a year of hard use here in Hawaii as a bait reel this thing has performed. I have had no issues with the line counter. The drag is great and best of all it can handle hard salt water use. I use this on my kayak so it gets pounded by salt water constantly. I had no reason to take it apart but just something I do once a year to clean and grease the insides of all my reels. Well this one had fresh water inside from rising it off today after use. But no corrosion at all! I would recommend this reel for anyone looking for a good reel for bait or light bottom fishing. ... show more
