Author and artist Aggy Boshoff guides potential students through 12 oil projects. The projects are fun and can be accomplished with some stretching on the part of a beggining oil painter, but some art background is helpful. The examples are nice but the book isn't as thorough as I'd like. My larger complaint is that the book is geared toward impressionistic renderings. Impressionism is nice but all other techniques simply don't exist here. The book is definitely worth the money but only as a brief excursion through impressionistic techniques for novice and advanced beginners. ... show more
