What a great idea I wish I had had one of these sooner. It’s so much easier than trying to balance it like on your belly or hold it with your hands and keep dropping it on your face because you’re getting sleepy. If I not off, I can just relax my leg and my iPad stays firmly in place

This kneeboard falls short on several fronts: 1. The strap is short - be ware - it will be tight on an average adult leg 2. The attachment is very finicky - the part that attaches the iPad is loosely attached to the strap, and can easily fall off. Putting it back on is also finicky. When I'm flying, I don't want to spend half of my time trying to make sure the iPad attachment can properly go back onto the straps. In addition, adjusting the angle of the iPad is really finicky, it sometimes work, and other times it gets stuck and won't rotate properly. Lastly, I wish the attachment was magnetic so I could easily access ForeFlight. Lifting my leg just to view the app isn't much of an option, and attaching/detaching the iPad on this is a pain. I think I might just keep this to use at home for regular browsing of the iPad, but it's inconvenient as an actual kneeboard.

This OHLPRO Pilot Kneeboard for iPad isn't awful. It isn't great, but it isn't awful. The band is very small and adjusting the size is tedious. Mine was slightly chipped on the edge due to the box being completely crushed and caved in, plus missing a top, but that's cosmetic. Functionally, it'll work if you can get the band to not cut off your circulation and get the size adjustment right the first time

The traditional knee boards used by Pilots are quickly becoming obsolete as they are doing most of their flight planning on iPads and tablet computers. This is a perfect and thoughtful gift for the Pilot in your life to be able to safely use their iPad with all the latest and most advanced flight planning apps during their flight.
