I recently ordered the FLASHFORGE Camera Kit for the Adventurer series, specifically my AD5X and it’s been a great upgrade to my 3D printing setup.     • Great upgrade for any FLASHFORGE AD5M 3D printers.
Flashforge Original Equipment OEM part. I have a FF Ad5m 3d printer, which does not come with a camera. However, there is a designated location on the inside of the front right pillar of the frame. It fit in the spot perfectly and even came with the one screw needed to mount the camera. Once the camera is in place, you will route the wires up into the LCD touch screen. There is already a connector on the back labeled "CAM". The wires are a direct plug and play and only took about 10 minutes. Very easy install and once the camera is installed, you will then be able to watch and control your printer remotely as long as it is connected to wifi, using the flash maker app. You can shut down your printer in case of fire even when not at home. That was the biggest selling point for me. Camera feed isn't high definition or 1080p quality, but it is plenty good enough for what it's being used for. Great product. Easy install. Fair price. As modern cameras go, the image resolution, clarity, and color are pretty poor. The frame rate improves if you enable LAN only mode, but not by much. Doing this will only allow you to use the Flashforge mobile app on your LAN to monitor the print remotely. If you have Home Assistant, there is a Flashforge integration that enables you to view the camera stream in Home Assistant from anywhere, providing you have enabled remote access to your Home Assistant instance. There are so many great things about my new AD5X printer, but this camera is not one of them. This thing works just well enough that I don't want to return it. The video quality is not great and the stream constantly fails, but it is sufficient to check my prints. Pros: Super easy install - took about 2 minutes to get it working in my new AD5X. Install one screw, insert one plug, change one setting and you're done! Clean install - direct to frame mount seems sturdy and is tucked nicely out of the way. Cons: Price - $40 is just insulting for a cheap camera that probably should have come with the printer. Connectivity issues - the video is slow and choppy and frequently fails. (Hopefully Flashforge can fix this with future firmware updates.) Update: After months of fighting lag and constant disconnects, I put my printer into LAN-only mode. This has fixed all the issues with video quality. The cause of all of the video problems seems to be the terrible, awful, no-good, worthless Flashforge cloud services. Once disabled, all of my network woes have disappeared. Still only 4 stars though, as this camera is extremely overpriced. ... show more

This camera was very easy to install and has a great picture. I highly suggest watching an installation video and afterwards it should take around 5 minutes to install. Excellent price and picture quality and it seems to be well made.

    • Gets me by but costs too much for the quality of the product.
It’s “ok” but needs further development. The camera has a serious 6 to 7 second lag and blurry video with no pan and tilt or focus. I’m using it but wish it was higher quality, it should be because of the higher price compared to competitors (about twice).

Picture quality is pretty clear for such a small camera. There weren't any directions on how to mount it but it goes inside the corner pillar next to the display and it was easy to attach so no complaints there. All I had to do was plug it into the display and make sure to turn the Video option on under Settings -> Video and toggle the camera AND video buttons. Very good product, well made. ... show more

This comes with zero instructions. It seems easy enough to install, but it does not show up as video in the Orca Flashforge or Flash Maker app. I have turned on the camera settings on the printer. The Flash Maker app just says "play failed". The slicer does nothing, but show a black screen with a play button. ... show more
