This is a laser for a beginner, it was easy to assemble. I'm am still learning to use the laser but so far I love it, I use it to engrave some of my walking sticks that I create, I love to use it to make items for my grandkids. It's great for many materials, wood, cardboard, slate, etc. I have not tried metal but is says that you can engrave with color on certain metals,I want to try that soon. The support for this is fantastic, they respond quickly and are very helpful. I would definitely recommend this laser for beginners.

This is a great laser at an affordable price. Their customer service was very quick to respond when I was missing a part. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to get started. I wanted to cut some foam board for a model I’m working on and after 5 to 6 test passes I had this dialed in very nicely to where it was not melting the foam.

had an Elegoo Phecda 10, and it was junk. It was so bad it po'd me 1 day and i picked up a hammer and beat it to pieces. My temper got the best of me, so I ordered a SWIITOL c18pro. It was good at 1st,then it would not cut melted butter. For 3 days I used every search on the web and found many peope asking the same, but no resolution. Never got a word from Swiitol either, so it sits in the corner now. Soooo, I ordered a Longer RAY5 20watt. Nothing, not a problem, it does exactly what it is told with no backtalk. I love it. It goes through 3mm acrylic like it wawsn't even there. Wood, my god I never imagined engravings and image transfer so good. If any1 needs Elegoo Phecda parts let me know, I have a few. lol THANK YOU LONGER! And, I did not lie, I pretty much destroyed it. laser head was lucky it flew off to the side.

If you are not an expert, do not buy this machine The assembly instructions are terrible. None of the QR codes gave us anything. Once together there are no operating instructions The flash drive with the software on it will not work The email to contact them gave me an error as did the phone number. You will have absolutely no support with this machine. So again unless you are already familiar with laser engravers I would buy a different model

Item works great. There is a learning curve and you need to either purchase or download software to use the device. One item they should suggest with it is an air pump. That makes the whole system function much better. Only issue is the threaded thumb screws that hold the laser apparatus in place can strip very easily because they are so tiny. Stripped one already but the other is holding. Depending on the height required there's an additional screw location so placing the workpiece on something let's you utilize the upper screw hole. Other than that it's very nice. Knowing what I know now, I would still purchase the same item.
