  • Great entry-level printer
I'm a tech-minded person who loves to build and learn new things. After a bit of research, I chose this unit for the lower price point and reviews that mentioned great quality results after some fine-tune adjustments. Physical assembly is required, but the directions are easy to follow. My first test print with the provided PLA and bunny gcode file came out perfect. For me, I think the setup from unboxing to printing was about 3 hours at a casual pace. Take your time, set it up right, and it will serve you well. At the time of writing this review, I have had the printer for a few months and made dozens of things with it. My biggest struggle was dialing in the settings with different types of PLA and prints, but other people who have seen the results often wrongly assume that I purchased them from a professional. The other misconception is that I paid a fortune for it; everyone is surprised when I tell them the actual cost. While this printer is not a pro-grade unit, it certainly does a great job, and it's priced well below what people were paying for these just a few years ago. It even comes with a SD card and all the necessary tools. Glass plate is what everyone wants anyway, and the auto-leveling feature is a godsend. It's awesome that printers like this are bringing more people into the 3D print community. Highly recommend considering this one if you're curious like I was and just getting started. ... show more

  • Works extremely well for the price point
This is my first 3D printer. I admit I did not know what to expect but had cautious optimism based on reviews. This machine has surprised me at every turn. It was fairly easy to assemble, and the initial bed tramming went fairly quick. I had a very clean looking Benchy boat in a very short time. Since then, I have made a few simple upgrades and have pushed this machine to its limits. I have printed in PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU (after Direct extruder mod) and soon Nylon. I have also had limited success with PC (of a certain brand and after Bi-metal heat break mod) even though it maxes out the machines capabilities and has a tendency to lift off the plate. This printer can have great print quality with time spent learning it and fine tuning. Overall, for a printer under $200, I am quite impressed. ... show more

  • Complete garbage
It just can’t handle a large print. It says it has a runaway heating condition and just sends out a siren. Then, as happened with the first one I had to return, it won’t turn back on. The little screen flashes and then goes out. Support is utterly useless. You are either ignored, or given advice like updating the firmware, which can’t happen because the thing won’t turn on to update the firmware. I can get it to come on by flipping it on, waiting five seconds, flipping it off, and quickly flipping it back on when the screen flashes. Then it starts alarming again and you can’t print anything. ... show more

  • An excellent second printer - just not for beginners
First off, I did end up returning this after some time with it. I will admit it was above my experience and comfort level, however I was expecting an Ender 3 V3 due to a misunderstanding on the different versions. I decided to stick it out and ended up going through a decent bit of filament before considering the other available options. I will say, on its own merits, this is a good machine and didn't take too long to set up and eventually tear down. Honestly, comparing this to a V3, I can see a case to be made for buying this for the incredibly sturdy frame, a sturdy belt system, and wide clearances and tons of spare rail space, as well as the included bonuses (coated glass build plate, a spare nozzle, etc.) and updating the outdated parts. I feel like this is the right option for a budget machine you want to upgrade, not the out-of-the-box experience I was personally hoping for. That said, after I gave it some troubleshooting time I was able to get some decent quality prints out of it, mostly larger scale things (small details are lost on small parts, so if you need tiny parts maybe look into resin printers), so if this is affordable and you're aware of the technical level you're jumping into, I can recommend it to you. ... show more
