I bought this in September of 2022 and in January of 2025 it went out so I’m buying another one they are half the price of Bosch replacement installed May 2025 will update if failure happens again

    • The good and the bad
Firstly, the alternator is considerable cheaper than other options for the Mercedes listed. After installation, it did produce 14.5 V and resolved a bad alternator in my vehicle. Unfortunately, the alternator is louder than the previous Bosch one it replaced leaving me wondering about the longevity of the bearings. Secondly, the pulley was slightly larger than the pulley on the unit it replaced. Due to differences in the two pulleys, swapping out the pulleys was not an option. Fortunately, the tensioner pulley accommodated the larger alternator pulley but will cause the alternator to turn at a slightly higher RPM than the Bosch unit. Over all it seems fine for now by I do have serious concerns about how long it will last (the Bosch lasted almost 30 years). If I had to do it over, I'd opt for a different brand and spend a bit more to ensure longevity. ... show more
