Color: Green+White+IR850
The Odepro KL-62 Plus is an absolute game-changer! Being three lights in one, you get a red (or green), white, and IR-850 light that works great with most night-vision scopes. Changing the color doesn’t involve changing any pills (or LED lights). Instead you simply rotate a collar on the light to change. I personally use an ATN X-sight 4k Pro with the ATN ABL 1000 rangefinder. The KL-62 Plus comes with a ton of accessories. Let’s begin with the actual case. Not many lights come with a case to begin, but this one has foam cut for each piece. I have never had a light packed this well, even ones that are more expensive. Now let’s look at the pieces. Of course it comes with the light itself, and a remote pressure switch. I’ll get into that in a minute. It comes with TWO 3,000 mAh 18650 rechargeable batteries, both in a case of their own. Along with the batteries comes a DOUBLE charger and cable. Also included are two types of mounts, one clamp-style mount that clamps onto both the light and body of a scop, and the other is a picatinny mount that is connected to another mount that can be clamped on the barrel. I’ll also talk more about the mounts later as well. Finally, Odepro includes the normal small things… A carry wrist strap, manual, small allen wrench, manual, warranty card, and they were nice enough to include two spare O-rings to keep it waterproof if the others fail. The warranty: The registration card states the KL-62 Plus comes with a 30-day free replacement warranty, 24-month free repair warranty, and a “limited lifetime warranty”, which according to their website, is where they charge for parts. WHY IS THIS A GAME-CHANGER??? Simple. You get three lights in one, and it is extremely easy to change the color. The distance of the light is RIDICULOUS! All colors illuminate great distances, especially when “focused”. But what I like the most is the ability to dim/brighten the beam with two methods: One tail cover has a knob that is a stepless dimmer… simply rotate the knob. You can also turn it on/off by pressing the knob. Odepro design engineers thought of everything! The tail cover also has a small (and dim) LED to let you know that the power is on. I do a lot of night-hunting because we have a huge hog-problem where I live, and with other lights, the only way to know the IR-850 is on is by looking down the light for the faint glow or to look through the scope. With the LED on the tail cover, it’s easy! Battery power: The two supplied rechargeable batteries have plenty of power. The case says that you should get around two hours of run-time, depending on the color you have the light on. I don’t think this is far off, but honestly, it’s hard for me to tell because I don’t have it on constantly, and when I do, I have it dimmed. I’ve done several hours of night hunting and the batteries lasted longer than I did. Zooming: The main bell can be rotated to zoom the light in and out. It is really smoothe to rotate, and focuses and floods really well. My scope has a connected laser rangefinder, and I was illuminating trees in excess of 200 yds. You can see reflective eyes even further. The build quality is solid. The body is all metal, and according to the case, it’s aircraft aluminum. This also applies to the mounts. Although the clamp-mount is not aluminum, it is still extremely solid. What would I change? This is a hard one because it’s just so well-designed. In fact, I have only one small (very small) complaint about the light itself. Like I mentioned earlier, it is really easy to change the color of the light - maybe a little too easy. The collar used to change color moves a little too easy. Mine had a little “play” in it. When you have the light illuminating something at a long distance and it is “focused”, any slight movement of that collar changes the location of the focused light. It is not much at all (which is why I said it was a very small issue), and can easily be overcome by “flooding out” just a little. Perhaps a slightly (and only slightly) bigger gripe is that it does not come with an adjustable mount. You can purchase one separately from Odepro for about $30. The light itself sells for about $140 and is a great deal, and many of us would not want to spend the extra $30, but might prefer the same mount that comes with the KL-52IR Pro. I”m not sure what the price difference would be, but if I was CEO of Odepro, I’d consider it as an option for the customer to pay the difference between the two mounts. Conclusion. I just don’t think you can go wrong with the KL-62 Plus. Three colors, changing them easily. Excellent distance and long-lasting batteries. So I bought this light to use for hunting and scouting game, BUT now that I’ve gotten my hands on it, I think its uses go far beyond that. To start, the light is well packaged in a convenient carry case and comes with two batteries, a charger, a remote switch for mounting on a firearm rail, a wrist strap, and a pic rail mount as well as a barrel/scope tube mount. This light’s battery compartment is sealed in a manner much like my expensive SCUBA dive lights in that it uses a lubricated o-ring to provide a water-tight seal. The tail switch has a great click feel and by twisting the tail button, you can easily adjust brightness with just two fingers to suit your desired beam distance or environment. The selector switch to change from red to white to IR850 has nice clicks at each position, although for a hunting light, I think this could be quieter. If your prey is close range, I would recommend setting the desired position before hand and keeping it there just to be more stealthy while hunting. I will say the sound is similar or quieter than most safety switches on firearms anyways so this is mainly me being picky. The angle is quickly adjusted by twisting the light bezel. The light does have some weight but that is the trade off for NOT adding significant bulk like most other predator hunting light;, they have packed more punch in a smaller light so it’s going to be a little heavier. That said, i don’t see that as an issue unless you plan to be hiking great distances with your firearm and are worried about fractions of ounces. The lens seems to be a type of polycarbonate instead of glass which which cuts down on glare/reflection when not in use and should be more impact resistant and durable. The first green (nightvision) photo shows a playground through the night vision scope with no IR, the second green (nightvision) image shows the same playground but this time with the addition of the IR850 on flood setting. The details are MUCH clearer and sharper with IR850. The IR beam can be zoomed to make targets recognizable at much greater distances (although I can’t get good photos of that application). The red flood easily identified a small rabbit and made picking up the glare of their eyes super easy. The photo of the green tanks shows a rangefinder distance and the red beam and white beam reach the 320+yd distance with ease. (Disclaimer: the light was NOT mounted to any firearm for these photos). For a Now for the other applications I can see for this light. This light really lights up an area and could be used for personal safety, security guards, police, EMS, Fire Rescue, camping, biking, or anywhere you need a light that can do both distance and flood reliably. In Summary: Build Quality: Solid and Durable aircraft aluminum. Water tight as I was testing in rain and never had any malfunctions. Connections are smooth with little “play” and no rattling or loose parts. Good weight. Ease of use: easy and intuitive. Settings can be easily manipulated even with gloves on. Brightness: BRIGHT! But easily adjustable to suit your needs Beam Distance: AMAZING!!! I was shocked at how far this little light could cast a beam. One light to cover everything from a mere foot away to hundreds of yards away Accessories: Included mounts are quite versatile and should fit most hunting applications right out of the box. The remote tail cap switch makes for even more mounting options. Battery charger with USB plug works most anywhere and is easily replaced with a longer cord if needed (just need USB to Micro USB). Carry case is well padded and nice for off-season storage. CONCLUSION: You simply can’t go wrong buying this light. It comes in various configurations, but I think the Red, White, IR850 makes the most sense for night hunting. Red to preserve night vision while setting up and scouting the area, IR for enhancing the nightvision scope, and white to provide all the light you could need to tend to your game afterward. I received my flashlight about a month ago and the battery is still strong, haven’t had to recharge it yet. The metal is solid and feels ergonomic in the hand. I like zoom dial on the front it goes from very large beam to very small beam. Super easy to switch from red to white to green. The power switch is easy to toggle on the rear handle and also adjusts the brightness from very bright to dim if you don’t wanna scare game while getting into the hunting grounds early morning. The red and green modes should also really help to not spook game. I’m planning a night hunt soon and will get to use the quick gun mount and wire remote. This light is super bright, compact, and comes with an extra battery and holds charge well. If you need a light for hunting and more this one is great. ... show more

I bought this earlier this year for predators after deer season. Figured I’d give it a review since I dug it out for the upcoming season. I used it about a dozen times and was pretty impressed by the light. IR works much better than IR provided with the ATN 4k Pro. After using a few times I just went to the red light with a vortex viper. After testing, I am pretty happy with this light. Battery lasts awhile but always take 2. Pic above is a deer at 70 yards taken with my phone No problem seeing predators at 200 yards. Haven’t taken it out much further since that’s about the max I can see from my sit locations. Under 100 yards it’s as good as day time with good glass. Only downfalls I found are -the head wobbles a little so if you bump it the light isn’t centered in your scope at longer ranges -I wish it went IR, red, white. (Not IR, white, red) , I’ve bumped the lever once or twice and it flips right to white. ... show more
