This is one purchase I was very skeptical of going with for the fact its sold by Meta. I assure you though this cable is these best link cable option. I have had multiple friends have issues with their third party cables not working properly and keep telling them to get this one. The price is a lot more yes but this cable offers really high bandwidth and the ability to charge while playing! This is at least with the Meta Quest 2. As for the new Meta Quest 3 it cannot out charge its consumption which I believe is a problem with that headset itself. The cable has a 90 degree to plug into your headset which makes it nice to run it back behind you when playing. It is a Type C to Type C cable but most pcs have a dedicated type on the back.     • There's no substitute for the real thing
I bought a cheaper version of the oculus official cable, and it constantly disconnected me from the PC. I don't mean that it became unplugged - I think the signal attenuation in the cable was bad. At this high a data rate, the physical properties of the cable really matter. The cheap cable just dropped the oculus connection every 2 minutes or so (which doesn't restore automatically). That just wont do in a survival-shooter scenario. I have been using the official cable for about 3 months now, and it hasn't disconnected me once. I'll note that I have been very careful not to step on it and pull while playing, and I have also tried not to bend it when I store it after playing. Store it loosely while playing (severe bends of cables are NOT okay) ... show more

    • Very well packed and works as it should
The media could not be loaded. I have to say that the packaging was amazing for this product, it is protected on the outside in a plastic sealed bag, with a heavy duty cardboard box that is stored into another exterior sleeve. Might be a little older as the branding on it says Facebook and not Meta but I am sure that does not way heavily on the product. Inside the box both ends of the cord are protected by usb-c sleeves and the cord is wound up inside of another securing sleeve which was surprising difficult to tear open. Impressed by the packaging and looks to be a high quality cord, which you would expect at this price point.     • Great, while it worked but possibly a little too fragile for regular klutzy folk?
Got this so I could develop VR apps on my Quest 1 running the Unity dev environment on my PC for fast scene iteration and play exclusive Rift / Steam VR games. I had bought some other compatible Link cables before the official Oculus cable was available/in stock which worked but these cables were a lot less convenient as they were fairly inflexible and shorter at around 10ft so I felt tethered to the PC by something that could do double duty towing fully laden oil tankers. The Oculus cable worked great initially, plugged into a powered USB C expansion card so it was able to keep the headset charged even during heavy use and was flexible so there wasn't the same degree of annoying drag on the headset. The Oculus PC app also reported I was getting full USB 3.2 speeds so performance was spot on. My issue is similar to other reviewers, I wasn't super careful with this cable and recently saw a right angle kink in the cable where it probably got caught under something and then yanked or bent. When I foolishly tried to straighten it out I felt/heard a nasty "tink" noise, which I assume was one or more of the fiber optic cables cracking and now the cable doesn't work correctly. I'd love to replace my broken cable with another Oculus Link cable as it really is the best wired Oculus Link experience I've tried but at $80 (or ~$70 on sale) every time I or my family is momentarily careless around one of these cables that could turn into a really expensive hobby so I'm probably switching back to the cheaper, heavier, slower but more robust cables unless I can get AirLink working? ... show more

    • To get the best absolute fastest speed, this is the best option
I tried 3rd party PC Link cables. This is the only cable that gives me 2-2.1Gbps and it's lighter and slicker. Others give me 1.9Gbps max. For the small increment it's over priced. But if you want the absolute top speed go with these.

    • Absolutely worth the price!
I like to play modded vr and I would lag and stutter very 2-3 minutes and it was killing the experience through normal airline. But yea sure you have to be connected to a cord but it's not the end world but with this cord I was able to play a heavily modded Blade and Sorcery for over an hour without a single lag or stutter!
