I purchased two of these to replace a chandelier and a mid century modern/industrial light in the kitchen. We have a small eat in kitchen, and the previous owner wanted the chandelier over their table. The ceiling is low, so I would bang my head on it all the time. We redid the kitchen and the new cabinets left no room for a hanging light. That is a large part of why I chose these. They are nearly flush with the ceiling, being about an inch thick. The install was very easy. After making sure the electrics were off for the lights, I removed the old ones, and the metal retaining bracket. I attached the plastic mounting ring straight to the electric light box. This light comes with an easy connector and wire nuts, I chose to use the later. Black to black, white to white, tuck them into the electric box, and attach the light. It goes on like a smoke detector, and is very sturdy. When I flipped the switch on the wall, and man these are bright. I am very happy with the whole process. Being LED, they will save on power, and last forever. I would highly recommend this light, it was so easy to install, looks so good and illuminates the kitchen well. I could not be happier. ... show more

So this light is super bright. I replaced 2 fluorescent lights in my kitchen, and one in my laundry room with the 12" version, I got the 15" version for my master closet which is kind of big. The 12" is so bright it likely would have been plenty for my closet but the 15" works really well. For a standard sized room, the 12" is more than bright enough. They mount really simply, and are really light so there is no real need to find studs to hang them, just use some cheap drywall anchors if you don't have a box installed behind the drywall. Took me longer to remove the old lights than it did to install these. They are super slim and while they do look and feel a little cheap up close, they look great once installed, and you cant tell how plastic-y they are once they are installed. If I had ONE gripe, it would be that they don't offer these in any other color temperature as the white light doesn't lend itself to much other than kitchen/laundry room settings, maybe your office if you can stand the color temperature. I would definitely buy these again in a heartbeat. ... show more
