I replaced some halogen tube lights in my closet with these and love the outcome. The install was super easy. The only downfall is that there is a casted shadow since they are not recessed lights. It’s not significant as they only stick out like an inch, but you can notice the shadow.

This ceiling light has taken me less than 15 minutes to install. The twist and mount method is easy. It has enough brightness for a small 150 sq ft bedroom. Larger rooms may require the 12" (more lumen) variant.

I bought seven of these lights, one 8" and six 12". Our house was built in 1981, and had what I like to call granny lights, that is brass base, glass globe ceiling fixtures. None of them matched, and none of them were the style I liked. Glass globe light fixtures always accumulate dead bugs of one kind or another, are far dimmer than I like and are usually ugly. Let's face it, brass is only acceptable on a boat, anywhere else it is dated. We decided to redo our kitchen, which was over 40 years old, full of "contractor special" cheap cabinets which did not fair well over the years. One of the light fixtures in the old kitchen was a chandelier that was far to big, and hung way to low for the small space. After the installation of the new pantry cabinet, the chandelier simply could not remain. I bought one of these lights to replace it. I was so impressed with the brightness and look of the light, I bought six more to replace all our ceiling lights. Installation is a breeze. I didn't need to turn off any electric breakers, because the lights were on a wall switch, and remained off. Each light comes with a plastic collar similar to a smoke detector. That collar attaches directly to the ceiling electric box. The light unit has two wires, white and black. The installation kit gives two options, wire nuts or wire clamps. I opted to use the nuts. Once the wires were connected, I tucked the wires into the electric box, then aligned the light fixture to the collar, press up and twist a half turn. Each light took about ten minutes to install. Some reviews say these lights "feel" cheap. They are very lightweight, being all plastic construction. LED lights are not heavy, nor do they use much electricity. There is no need for metal bases, ceramic lightbulb sockets, so the unit is very light. At no time did I think the light was going to break while putting it up, and once it was installed it looked like a light on the ceiling. lightweight doesn't mean cheap. I recommend this light for anyone who wants a minimalist modern look, and like a lot of light. If not, you can just sit in the darkness, and reevaluate your life choices....Seriously you want this light. I would buy it again if I had any remaining overhead lights to replace. ... show more
