I have been against consoles and only played on Switch but wanted a PS4 slim to make my home office (also against that LOL) into a gamer girl nook + home office. I'm new to PS4 and when I realized that it needed a stand to be placed vertically, I liked that this was compact but also offered the fan and chargers. The fan does a nice job - it is moderately loud - like the midlevel of a laptop fan. It doesn't take much volume increase to mask it, or I use headphones most of the time (my husband plays with the audio turned up slightly). The plugs that attach to the DS4's to dock them are very small and unobtrusive - just make sure you don't lose them if you don't leave them plugged into controllers. I think this is more of a system limitation with the way the PS4 behaves, but what I am seeing is that in rest mode, the power to the base does stop pretty quickly. I guess you could get around this by plugging the base into wall power rather than into the PS4 or possibly with the PS4's settings. This has been fine - we have not had any problem keeping the DS4's charged so far (this is the same I believe for the fan, the chargers, and also the USB ports). The only thing I wish that worked differently is I wish that the fan were just on by default as soon as it receives power, b/c sometimes I do forget to turn it on. It has an inset piece of plastic that holds the Slim in place (I think it holds the OG PS4 but not the Pro without the inset). It is reasonably sturdy, but we don't have kids and so no one is messing with it - I don't know if I'd trust it around kids completely. Overall a good upgrade to our PS4.

I have the ps4 plus but everything after removing the external part my ps4 won’t fit. I did not return since the price was great and is still functional , connected 4 remotes too!
