Best camera on the market

Great camera with crystal clear picture, easy to calibrate. It's also come ready to use out of box plug and play. I would say the best features is camera tracking and the auto zoom in when recordings is automatically done without questioning it. Simple the best money I spent on a camera!! Simple to use and quality video

LOVE IT. This webcam is incredibly simple to use. Except for learning the simple hand gestures to enable the auto-tracking, you really don't even need the instruction manual, it's that intuitive. Video quality is excellent and I have tried it in a variety of settings: business related SM recordings, Zoom meetings, low light, back light, contrasty light, and more. The auto-tracking is great, though I will say it can occasionally lose you if you move too quickly or suddenly jerk away from the camera (an issue I can't see coming up in most settings or Zoom calls.) The focal length of the lens is perfect for a huge variety of uses - you can do desktop Zoom calls or full body shots (like in an interactive yoga class) with little to no distortion. I also really like the ability to mount it on my desktop, on a normal tripod head, or just leave it freestanding on a desk or tabletop. Super lighweight and portable, and the case that is included provides great protection. So why not 5 stars? SOLELY an Amazon issue and that's pricing. The OBSBOT website has occasional sales and the difference between their sale price and the regular Amazon price can be substantial. I saved around $70 by returning the Amazon order and buying direct from the manufacturer. Yes, delivery took a day or two longer but I was totally ok with that. Frankly, after using it and seeing the quality of the webcam and the videos it creates, I'd actually be fine paying full price on Amazon - but why turn down a deal if you can get one? ... show more

Easy, affordable, tracks very well, good video quality, decent audio

I’ve been doing Zoom physical therapy and personal training sessions since the beginning of the pandemic, and got tired of constantly repositioning my laptop with its built-in camera so the therapist & trainer could see me as I moved through the exercises. I knew PTZ cameras existed, but they were prohibitively expensive. When I saw the 1080p version of this camera, I figured I might as well try it—but didn’t expect much, because it was a fraction the price of other PTZ cameras. Turns out it works shockingly well. Setup was pretty much plug-and-go. I did download the app so I could choose the settings that worked best for my use case, but I think even that is optional. The video quality, according to the therapist and trainer, is very good, and the built-in audio is good enough (I think it works with external mics too, but haven’t needed to try one). Its optical zoom range is not quite as long as some of the more expensive PTZ cams, but it’s enough for my purposes. It does a great job of tracking me as I move around: the only times it has stopped tracking are when I’ve been flailing around with my hands during the exercises, probably unintentionally making the hand motion that instructs the camera to stop following. All in, the earlier version of this camera has been one of my best tech accessory purchases. So much so that when I needed to set up another location with a camera, I bought this new 4K version. Works exactly like the 1080p version, but with even better video quality. Great Webcam

I don't really use the AI tracking or gestures, but having present camera positions and zoom for sitting and standing are nice. Most of the "Beauty" settings are stupid gimmicks that you'll never use, the background blur being the only one of interest. It works ok but it's entirely CPU based and thinks a couch behind me is a chair headrest so it never blurs it. I just end up using other background blur options. All in all the App is ok, only use 5% of it's features but they're on several different tabs, it would be nice if I could consolidate them to one screen and hide the junk. That said, the camera quality is excellent in all conditions. My office has windows to the east and west so in the mornings I'm backlit and in the afternoons I'm front lit, in both cases the camera performs exceptionally. It also works well in low light situations. You always know when the camera is on or off because of an LED on the front and the fact that it physically looks down when it's off. When you stop using the camera it will automatically turn off and look down after a couple minutes so you don't have to go digging in the App. Similarly it will wake back up when accessed. Amazing camera even after years of use

I I bought this camera quite some time ago and I’m only writing this review now. When it was first released, I have to say that its software was already very advanced compared to other brands, although a bit limited when it came to color adjustments. However, this camera has spectacular technology. The gesture controls may take some time to get used to at first, but as you practice, you get better and more comfortable using them. Premium Price, Unreliable Product, and Unacceptable Customer Support

I paid over $200 for this camera because it was marketed as a premium, reliable product. Unfortunately, it has never worked correctly, and my experience with OBSBOT has been profoundly disappointing. After ongoing issues, an official firmware update through OBSBOT’s own software left the camera permanently stuck in firmware upgrade mode (blue/yellow flashing lights). The device is now completely unusable. What makes this situation especially frustrating is that I now know exactly what the problem is. This is a software-side failure caused by the update process, not a dead device. The camera still powers on, enumerates correctly over USB, and accepts firmware data — it’s simply locked in upgrade mode because the proprietary finalize/recovery step never completes. I explained this clearly to customer support. I told them: • what state the device is in • why it is stuck • and that it is very likely recoverable with the correct internal tool or recovery process I specifically asked for the actual solution — a recovery utility, manual reflash method, or anything that would allow the firmware update to complete properly. I was even able to give them the specific items that people have been sent in the past to fix these issues. They dismissed me completely. Instead of engaging with the issue or acknowledging what I had already discovered, after days of back and fourth with customer support they offered no technical help and no recovery options. Just to to try to factory reset in the OBSBOT Center or update in the OBSBOT Update client with the same firmware that cause the issue in the first place. After I informed them that these things had already been done on both my Mac and PC, their only response was to ask me to pay additional money so they could send mine out for repair and possibly send me a refurbished camera. The amount they wanted to charge to “fix” this problem was so high that I could literally buy a brand-new camera for the same price — after already spending over $200 on this one. That is unacceptable, especially when the failure was caused by their own firmware update. This experience made it very clear that OBSBOT: • knows these devices are recoverable • has the tools internally to fix them • and chooses not to help customers, even when the issue is clearly identified I’m not upset because something broke — electronics fail. I’m upset because OBSBOT refused to listen, refused to help, and treated a fixable software problem as an opportunity to charge me again. If you’re considering this product, be aware: If something goes wrong, even if you understand the issue and explain it clearly, OBSBOT will not help you fix it. I cannot recommend this product or this company. I am just so disappointed. ... show more

Much better camera than the 1080p model; woth the extra cost.

We originally built a zoom "studio" for our weekly meeting using 2 of the OBSBOT 1080p cameras. Unfortunately one of those cameras gave up the ghost on us so we purchased one of these 4k cameras as a replacement. This proved to be a far better unit for our purposes. The extra zoom 2x vs 4x made a significant difference in picking up people asking questions in the audience. The image, naturally, is better. But additionally the tracking is far more accurate and it can often detect a change in speakers and who it should track. Combined with their latest supporting software we have far better control of our broadcasts. Only complain I have is that the new software doesn't allow you to name the cameras; they all come up as tiny4k with a number associated to them. The old cameras we actually name as aud[ience] spk[er] which allowed individuals with less training to operate the system better. We've also noticed that they always come up in OBSStudio upon startup. For some reason that software often had problems finding the 1080p cameras upon starting. ... show more
