I’ve been doing Zoom physical therapy and personal training sessions since the beginning of the pandemic, and got tired of constantly repositioning my laptop with its built-in camera so the therapist & trainer could see me as I moved through the exercises. I knew PTZ cameras existed, but they were prohibitively expensive. When I saw the 1080p version of this camera, I figured I might as well try it—but didn’t expect much, because it was a fraction the price of other PTZ cameras. Turns out it works shockingly well. Setup was pretty much plug-and-go. I did download the app so I could choose the settings that worked best for my use case, but I think even that is optional. The video quality, according to the therapist and trainer, is very good, and the built-in audio is good enough (I think it works with external mics too, but haven’t needed to try one). Its optical zoom range is not quite as long as some of the more expensive PTZ cams, but it’s enough for my purposes. It does a great job of tracking me as I move around: the only times it has stopped tracking are when I’ve been flailing around with my hands during the exercises, probably unintentionally making the hand motion that instructs the camera to stop following. All in, the earlier version of this camera has been one of my best tech accessory purchases. So much so that when I needed to set up another location with a camera, I bought this new 4K version. Works exactly like the 1080p version, but with even better video quality. Even my husband—who is very much NOT a gadget freak—liked this camera so much he now uses it for his work Zoom meetings.

I gotta share my thoughts on this Webcam – it's seriously changed the game for my video calls and streaming setup. First things first, the video quality is off the charts. The 4K resolution makes me look all sharp and detailed, and whether it's a work meeting or a livestream, this webcam makes me look like a pro. The PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) feature is like magic. I can adjust the camera angle and zoom in or out without getting up. It's a real lifesaver when I want to switch things up during a call or stream. But here's the real star of the show: the AI-powered tracking. This webcam can follow me around, keeping me right in the center of the shot. This is a great camera, love the auto tracking for the home office setup with it mounted on the corner of the table rather than on top of the monitor(s), and outstanding HDR and picture quality. The only reason this is not a slamdunk 5 star review is that I started using it and it was great, then a updated firmware came out and with it the AI gesture for tracking completely broke and it is sooo much harder to get it to recognize the tracking gesture, the zoom seems to be ok'ish but tracking is simply way, hope there is a revert to whatever old algorithm was used because it never failed where now I am am sitting for 5-6 seconds with my hand up until it recognizes it and then takes 3 seconds before it enables the tracking feature..

I don't really use the AI tracking or gestures, but having present camera positions and zoom for sitting and standing are nice. Most of the "Beauty" settings are stupid gimmicks that you'll never use, the background blur being the only one of interest. It works ok but it's entirely CPU based and thinks a couch behind me is a chair headrest so it never blurs it. I just end up using other background blur options. All in all the App is ok, only use 5% of it's features but they're on several different tabs, it would be nice if I could consolidate them to one screen and hide the junk. That said, the camera quality is excellent in all conditions. My office has windows to the east and west so in the mornings I'm backlit and in the afternoons I'm front lit, in both cases the camera performs exceptionally. It also works well in low light situations. You always know when the camera is on or off because of an LED on the front and the fact that it physically looks down when it's off. When you stop using the camera it will automatically turn off and look down after a couple minutes so you don't have to go digging in the App. Similarly it will wake back up when accessed. I haven't had any issues with it yet and it works reliably. I'm very pleased.

I I bought this camera quite some time ago and I’m only writing this review now. When it was first released, I have to say that its software was already very advanced compared to other brands, although a bit limited when it came to color adjustments. However, this camera has spectacular technology. The gesture controls may take some time to get used to at first, but as you practice, you get better and more comfortable using them. To this day, I still use it, and it’s an amazing camera.

As a remote worker I use this at least once every week I work, and it provided great image and the audio mic works great too. I know this because co-workers using their laptop cameras often have terrible audio and dark or overly bright images and we discuss it and everyone agrees mine is fine. My only minor complaint is I sometime talk with my hands and it thinks I made once of the hand gestures and changes the zoom or turns on tracking when I don't need it. But that is my fault and I haven't tried to figure out how to turn off that feature.

I paid over $200 for this camera because it was marketed as a premium, reliable product. Unfortunately, it has never worked correctly, and my experience with OBSBOT has been profoundly disappointing. After ongoing issues, an official firmware update through OBSBOT’s own software left the camera permanently stuck in firmware upgrade mode (blue/yellow flashing lights). The device is now completely unusable. What makes this situation especially frustrating is that I now know exactly what the problem is. This is a software-side failure caused by the update process, not a dead device. The camera still powers on, enumerates correctly over USB, and accepts firmware data — it’s simply locked in upgrade mode because the proprietary finalize/recovery step never completes. I explained this clearly to customer support. I told them: • what state the device is in • why it is stuck • and that it is very likely recoverable with the correct internal tool or recovery process I specifically asked for the actual solution — a recovery utility, manual reflash method, or anything that would allow the firmware update to complete properly. I was even able to give them the specific items that people have been sent in the past to fix these issues. They dismissed me completely. Instead of engaging with the issue or acknowledging what I had already discovered, after days of back and fourth with customer support they offered no technical help and no recovery options. Just to to try to factory reset in the OBSBOT Center or update in the OBSBOT Update client with the same firmware that cause the issue in the first place. After I informed them that these things had already been done on both my Mac and PC, their only response was to ask me to pay additional money so they could send mine out for repair and possibly send me a refurbished camera. The amount they wanted to charge to “fix” this problem was so high that I could literally buy a brand-new camera for the same price — after already spending over $200 on this one. That is unacceptable, especially when the failure was caused by their own firmware update. This experience made it very clear that OBSBOT: • knows these devices are recoverable • has the tools internally to fix them • and chooses not to help customers, even when the issue is clearly identified I’m not upset because something broke — electronics fail. I’m upset because OBSBOT refused to listen, refused to help, and treated a fixable software problem as an opportunity to charge me again. If you’re considering this product, be aware: If something goes wrong, even if you understand the issue and explain it clearly, OBSBOT will not help you fix it. I cannot recommend this product or this company. I am just so disappointed.

This product is far more advanced then I had expected. Although it is a bit more pricey then many available webcams, it’s technology is well beyond those and in a category all to itself. This is a smaller version of the one I used in our corporate office, same features just smaller and way more affordable. AI tech with on click allows you to pace while on a call or presentation and the camera follows you, better than if you had your own cameraman. Picture quality is fantastic and works right out of the box and ups your meeting game to a professional level! I highly recommend
