I live in LA. As I've gotten older, I hardly get into the ocean at all. I ordered this suit hoping I'd get over being wimpy about the cold (65 deg) water and get into the ocean more for boogie boarding/body surfing. I haven't been in the water with the suit yet, but I had to write this up for all the folks with the same trouble as I've had finding a suit that fit. I've been all over the internet nothing seemed close. I'm 5'10", 295lbs, 49" chest, 57" beer belly!, 18" neck, 53.5 hips and the 5XL short fits well! The 5XLS size guide says 52-58 chest, but still fits my 49 inches ok. Not baggy, though the sleeves are down to my elbows. The 5XLS' 45-53in waist fits my 57" gut fine. Not too tight. Legs are just right. The zipper is YKK, but plastic. That's the only thing to give me pause. I ended up spending $171, but I've seen prices lower, just not for this size. I hope putting all these personal details helps someone out there. I kept reading write ups by 6'3" 190lbs folks that were no help. ... show more

Review: I recently purchased the O'Neill Men's Reactor-2 2mm Back Zip Short Sleeve Spring Wetsuit, and I'm overall very happy with it. It's a well-made wetsuit that is comfortable to wear and provides good warmth in cooler waters. However, I do want to warn potential buyers that the wetsuit runs very small. I ordered my usual size, but it was so tight that I could barely get it on. I had to return it and order two sizes up, which fits much better. Once I got the right size, I was very impressed with the wetsuit. It's made of high-quality neoprene that is both flexible and durable. The back zip is easy to get in and out of, and the short sleeves provide good range of motion. I've worn the wetsuit for several surfing sessions now, and it has kept me warm and comfortable even in temperatures as low as the mid-60s. Overall, I would recommend the O'Neill Men's Reactor-2 2mm Back Zip Short Sleeve Spring Wetsuit, but be sure to order at least two sizes up. Being an older surfer now, I have learned that it's pretty hard to beat O'Neill, all things considered, when it comes to wetsuits: quality, comfort, durability and the repair center not too far from me. This one is pretty good. It could use a little more room in the midsection but easy to put on and just right late spring summer water temps in San Diego. Nice and flexible in the shoulders for paddling (critical). A little tight in the neck but you get used to it quickly. This is an XL which is about right for a 6', 200 lb guy. Good for 60 to 70 degree F water. Not too expensive or uncomfortable and keeps you warmer than you would otherwise be in the afore stated temperature range.

Quality suit. Just know that they run very small. Got a med. (I'm 5 10 1/2 and 160# w/ skinny legs) and the bottom of the legs was way tight. I cut a slit in the legs and bonded a dart of neoprene material in there. Now they fit well.
