I ordered this life vest for my grandson who has a slim build. He’s 47 inches tall and 52 pounds. This vest was uncomfortably snug on him. It’s a nice vest though if your child is at the lower end of the weight range.

Works well, and seems comfortable, but the blue writing on the back rubs off on my son even after only 15 minutes of wear. Not the end of the world, but it doesn't even come off with soap so I just have to wait for his skin to sluff it off.

The “Child” size life jacket was way too small for my son who weighs 50 lbs and just turned 6 years old. I needed an extra 2-3 inches of width to zip up. There was no chest size provided for the “Child” size so I thought the weight range of 35-55 lbs should fit. I am going to try same O’Brien neoprene jacket in “Youth” size (55-88 lbs). I read on another website that the Youth size is for chests measuring 25-29 inches. ... show more
