  • Gimme linux support!
Color: White Size: 280mm Radiator Style: Kraken Elite RGB Pattern: Cooler
This is the first AIO I have purchased and it seems to be doing its job as intended. This was put in a white Hyte y60 case as it seemed to be one of the only 280mm white AIO. I was originally going to buy the last gen version of this cooler, but figured I might as well buy this new one which just got released. Glad I did too as the larger screen is much nicer to look at. All of my opinions here are based on the out of the box behavior of the cooler, no NZXT cam configuring was done. Performance: Cools my 7900x pretty decently. According to the cooler screen, it sits around 33-34 idling and the highest I've seen it hit is 37 degrees when doing short intense computations. Installation: Really straight forward with an AMD x670e board. Way better than my previous experience installing a BeQuiet! Dark rock pro 3/4 to an intel based system. It's also great that the cooler can be oriented at different angles (30 degree steps I believe) which gives it even more flexibility in installations. (the default orientation has the tubes coming out the bottom of the screen/coldplate. Rotating the screens image requires software) Noise: Runs quiet enough. I can somewhat hear the whoosh of the fans, however it is over powered by the stock fans my case came in. As for pump noise, I'm not entirely sure I hear it. Occasionally I hear a sound from my PC, but I have yet to determine if it is coil whine from my new build, or if it is the pump occasionally whirring. Fans: I plan on upgrading the fans at a later date with lian li infinity fans, but I have honestly been pleasantly surprised by how well the rgb looks. However, I would have preferred being able to buy the cooler without the fans and fan hub included. If I wanted NZXT fans, I would get NZXT. Let me make the choice and save money by not having to buy stuff I am not going to use. Linux software support: One gripe I have is that there is no official software support in linux. But I guess I can't complain too much as I am probably 1 of 3 people that it matters to. Still, I'd like to see companies like NZXT support projects such as openrgb and coolero/liquidctl. [Rant: Even if I ran windows, god forbid I install bloatware like NZXT cam + a million other rgb software to suck up my hardware resources. I just don't get why so much money is spent on software no one likes when NZXT could just spend a day giving the open source community the usb com specs for the cooler and reap the benefits of 'free' work.] Thankfully by default the leds on the fan are white, and the temperature on the screen is also colored white. One of these days when i have hours to waste, I will try fooling around with liquidctl and see if I can get the experimental controls to work. Conclusion: It's a high end, white, 280mm AIO with a big ol' screen. And its price reflects that. It looks great and the install is easy. If you are going to blow money on a high end AIO, its going to be pretty hard to beat this one. I really only have issues on the software side. ... show more

  • Very Nice
Color: White Size: 360mm Radiator Style: Kraken Elite RGB Pattern: Cooler
Bought this to cool my 5800x3d that I recently upgraded to from a 3700x. Function great and is very aethetically pleasing to look at. Great customization, crisp and responsive display, and the software is lightweight. The software also doesn't conflict with my other rgb software (eg. Razer Synapse, OpenRGB, and G.Skill). I'd recommend this for any high end cpu that naturally runs hot such as the 5800x3d, 13900k, 7950x3d, etc. Overall, this is a great replacement for my AMD Wraith Prism cooler. Before my cpu temps got high enough where my computer would crash due to overheating and would idle at 80c. Now my cpu idles at 33c and I've never seen it reach above 70c even while stress testing with Furmark cpu burner and playing games with ray tracing enabled and set to max. The only thing I don't like is that for me the cooler shows up as an ejectable device like a USB stick. When you click Eject NZXT Kracken Elite it makes the software stop working. Although, the pump still functions when "ejected". I haven't seen anyone else have this problem so this might just be a me thing that I'm personally not going to bother to fix. Overall great cooler, lightweight software, very nice. ... show more

  • Kraken Z73- A good all around cooler for your PC
Color: Black Size: 360mm Radiator Style: Kraken Z Pattern: Cooler
The media could not be loaded. I have to say a great addition to my build and keeps it very cool. My build is a ryzen 3700x, rtx 2070 super and phanteks evolv x, and keeps my cpu very cool at around 60c when under heavy load during a time spy cpu stress test, 99.2% frame rate maintained for 20 runs. The thermals in my room is not the best and I have been running with the pre-applied thermal paste, so take the thermals with some reservation. Although when running with my old air cooler and using good thermal paste, I would get around 85c for the same run on time spy stress. So I went down 25c and can go down more if I reapplied thermal paste. The installation for Z73 was easy enough in my case and had no problems. I did replace the fans with corsair ll 120s because I wanted to have my rgb with my case. I have to say those fans fit perfectly if you want to do the same. Also my case made it easier to put in, since I could take the top panel off for an easy install, just keep in mind how your case will allow you to install. The LCD screen is a nice touch for constant temperature showing when running stress tests and benchmarks to see how it's performing. The best thing about the screen is that you have an added part to your lighting and make it an interesting part of the theme you are doing. I do multiple themes for my setup and it is great for changing up your looks as much as you want (Sunset theme in video). It adds more to your build to have more fun with the theme your going for. The noise level is quite good with this aio. If your looking for a quiet aio, the Z73 is a contender because on quiet mode you can't really hear it and still cools very well, never really went past 65c (don't have the best ambient temperature and never reapplied paste). I usually have headphones (Corsair Virtuoso) on and have it running on performance, where it is louder but with headphones on I can't really hear the pump and fans. If you aren't using headphones, the noise is noticable but if you have your speakers running, it's not too bad. It just depends on how close you are to your pc. I have my on desk but I also have it connected to my tv and I will be a bit of distance away and can't really hear it when gaming off the TV. The only problem I have to say with this cooler is the cam software. The monitoring side of the software loves to act weird after an update for a week and give you some weird readings. It reads my gpu as running at 527 degrees sometimes because it doesn't registers the demcial point because it was running at 52.7c. Also the software doesn't remember your previous setup sometimes after an update and resets your settings for mode your running and the LCD screen. Also if you are running a ryzen system, your temperature will fluctuate a bit because cam and other softwares can't read as accurate as ryzen master, so don't be worried when it jumps around in temperature. Summary Pros- Install, Cooling, Noise, Looks, Performance Cons- Cost (if you are worried about the cost), CAM software, non rgb fans included ... show more
