It's very soft compared to a beauty blender. Definitely has a more "marshmallowy" quality. It expands to super large when you get it wet. Somehow it seems like it has a higher density than beauty blender but without making it more stiff like other off-brand sponges. The shape is fun. If you are on the fence about buying JUST TRY ONE. I am very, very picky about make up sponges. I have tried expensive and cheap ones. This made my make-up look and feel amazing.
