I am new to homebrewing but this seems like an excellent brew bag. I have had 26 lbs of grains in the bag. It held up great after the boil and was suspended from the drawstring to drain. I bought these for cider pressing, they are plenty roomy, easy to use, durable, and let lots of juice flow through for a dry pomace. I like the french seams but pomace squeezed into them and is now stuck there. Otherwise, they hosed off very well and dried quickly. They do stain, like everything you might press cider in. I did not use the drawstrings other than to hang the bags to dry so I'm likely going to take the barrel locks off so they don't get broken in the press. I may see if they are machine washable at the end of the season, or for this price range, I may just replace them for next season. ... show more

For years I have brewed without using a grain bag. I saw these as unnecessary extra expense. Well I was wrong. These bags make grain disposal a breeze. They also help keep the grains elevated so you don’t get a stuck mash tun. If you are doing 5 gallon batches it’s perfect. 10 gallon not so much. Great value! Having had flooding issues I use these on the outlet of my washing machine to catch lint in an overfill resevoir before hitting the main drain and they do a great job. Just scrub the slime out every few months and reaffix about the outlet hose. Large area for large flow with fine mesh for fine lint gathering to keep the old pipes clean. ... show more

These are very good and have been easy to clean when I slide it over a 5 gallon water cooler and wash with a garden hose. Soap up and rinse down. Way better than the other bags I’ve used. And they have to string lock to hole them tight. Good bags
