Very useful 6” elastic abdominal waist support. The velcro fastener end binds very tight and is a bit hard to release. The velcro fastener end is also exactly the same width as the entire band, so even the slightest off center wrap connection allows the velcro to uncomfortably contact skin. A tapered velcro end would be a smarter design. However the wrap is very comfortable, very thin, feels very good, and provides some real low back support…at a very reasonable price. . ... show more

Waiting for surgery to repair 4 incisional hernias and one umbilical hernia, all on a vertical line up my abdomen. So that you can decide if your situation is similar to this user: One hernia is described by my surgeon as somewhat large, but no viscera (organs) have protruded. Just a small part of the omentum (innermost layer of fat) has pooched thru the largest rupture and makes a noticeable bulge under the skin -- which was increasing quickly until I started wearing this binder. Right now, I qualify for a robotically-assisted laparoscopic repair to be done through the side of the abdomen, which means I may be able to go home the same day. I fear if the rupture enlarges, I will have to have an open incision in front, which would mean several days in hospital and longer, more painful recovery. Surgeons don't mention a binder but I have a close friend in the same situation, with a much larger rupture, larger bulge and a great deal of discomfort. She got this binder and it helps her a lot. The less movement and INTERNAL pressure on the bulge, the less likely the rupture will continue to enlarge (my opinion). The discomfort I was feeling when bending and lifting is greatly reduced with the binder, and somehow I continue to feel better even when I remove it for my shower and for laundering it. It's surprisingly comfy, even for sleeping. Wear over undergarments or not, personal choice. There's a learning curve to putting it on! It doesn't need to be tight, just secure enough to stay in place, and with a little additional tension. Spread it on bed, lie atop it, start experimenting with position and tension. I stand now but had to do the bed thing for a few days first. The velcro is very grabby, very strong! I saved the black strip that came covering the velcro, and cut it in half with scissors. I use it to cover/disable the lower half of the velcro while I'm fastening the upper half. Then I pull off the strip, and fasten the lower part. To "open" the velcro, yank straight up or down from the top or bottom end -- don't pull sideways because it won't release! Best wishes. ... show more

Purchased this for support after muscle repair surgery. It was okay for about a month. Granted I did wear it 23/7, but after about a month, I had to throw away. It look all fared and numbly. The Velcro also seemed to pull away easily Did not hold up in the wash.. Would not buy again.

I wanted a second abdominal binder. This one seemed to be nearly identical to the one used by my surgeon! It did a great job of providing support, and has lasted for over 2wks. I cleaned it with my machine washer and air dried it, and it has not really lost much elasticity.

Had surgery, thankfully the dr provided me with a hardback, sturdier binder, HOWEVER I do need a break from it every now and then. This softer binder does allow me to sit more comfortably. It doesn't keep the foam pads as straight and tight as the dr recommended, so I only use it during work hours a couple days a week or when I need a break from the hard binder. The velcro kinda seems like it tears apart the cotton bandage, but it is holding up well. ... show more
