    • They are my jeans..
I like these jeans, they take my body and make it look better. I am 60 but not ready for old lady jeans but don't want to look like I am trying to be 25 again. There is just enough stretch in these to avoid the dreaded muffin top. the length is long but a needle and thread will fix that. I have found that they fit true to size, more than other jeans I have tried. I have an apple shape but nothing in the back, I can't say I have noticed that these jeans make that much difference in the rear end but I didn't have much there to start with. I really like the fabric, with a few notes: 1. It's thinner than jeans, so don't expect a denim feel. 2. The pattern is subtle, and looks nice. 3. I have similar slacks from NYDJ which are huge on me. These are tight (same size), and feel like they have a lot more spandex. I ordered a second pair in the hopes of getting a pair that fit right, since I really like the pant. You may want to consider ordering a size up. 4. I'm about 5' 7", and the length is fine on me with a low wedge type heel. 5. The quality is fine.... I don't see any difference from what I purchase in the store at double the price. I'll post again after I try the second pair. Questions, drop a note, and I'll get back to you! Great price, by the way. **** UPDATE ***** I'm keeping the second pair, although the fit was barely different. I really like the fabric, so I decided to keep them regardless. Since I just wrote a bad review for a perefume on Amazon I thought it would be only right to praise Amazon for an outstanding product. I am a 68 year old woman, have had two children and am suffering the consequent sags and bags of increasing age. Finding comfortable pants and jeans has always been a problem but I am truly delighted with NYDJ. They fit well, are stretchy, wash well and are the most comfortable I've ever had. Either in the office dressed up or casual - terrific. Note: I bought a pair in Bloomingdales for a very, very high price not knowing Amazon had them! Amazon doesn't have the entire line but enough that I subsequently bought at least five or six pairs more online. If there are stores available near you Ireccommend trying on a few to get your right size and then order on Amazon. ... show more

I’ve been a NYDJ fan for years. Ordered two pair, black and mahogany, in the Marilyn straight in bull denim. Really like the high natural fiber content (98%cotton/2% elastin for the black, 97% cotton/3% elastin for the mahogany) and that they are made in USA (of imported fabric). Both colors are good, saturated and more dressy than regular jeans. Not as happy with the fit. These fit loose through the waist but actually feel small because they don’t come up as high in the back as other Marilyns that I have purchased in the past. They are also ~31.75” inseam (before washing), not 33” as stated in the description. I pulled out all my Marilyns to compare other high cotton content pants to these: the older Marilyn slim and bootcut fit higher in the waist, are actually 33” long and fit (and look) great; one Marilyn straight bought last year is like the two new pair, and one fits more in between: higher in the back but not quite as long as my older pants - this was my go to long pant this summer as the shorter length was OK with short sandals. I was hoping to get another pair like it but clearly NYDJ has chosen to go with the other fit, so both new pair are going back. I can only say that I hope NYDJ brings back the Marilyn fit that we raved about. Two stars for the fabric, plus one for being made in USA. ... show more

    • Great fit for an everyday pair of jeans
Normally I try on 5 different pairs of the same size to find the right fit, of 50 different styles of jeans, before I find the right pair. I'm picky. These fit just right in all of the right places. Long enough (I'm 5'9") but not too long, enough of a stretch to sit in a car for a long drive without cutting into your legs, and just high enough in the waist to control the slight muffin top without looking like a mom jean. I'm in between a US 8 & 10, and the 8 fit perfectly right out of the bag. They might stretch out too much over time, but my out of the box experience was great. I bought another pair in another color straight away. I'm thrilled to see the return of straight leg jeans after a decade of skinny's. Hoping the stretch fabric isn't too stretchy to sag after a couple of washings, time will tell. If so, I feel like I could go down another size and feel like they will still fit in all of the right places. ... show more

    • Completely different fit from my Haydens
I have 2 Hayden straight legs which I love. According to comments from NYDJ employees the Marilyn is only different in decorative details, e.g. the Hayden has double belt-loops and stitching on the back pocket. Even the NYDJ web-site shows the rise and leg opening etc should be the same. However, this Marilyn feels tighter, and the rise seems shorter, thus causing the dreaded muffin top and just being uncomfortable to wear all day. this is even though I didn't buy a size down, which is what they recommend. Very disappointed! Also: It's frustrating how inconsistent materials are at NYDJ. they used to be all 97-99% cotton. Now you have to look at each one to check if they are a cotton-poly blend or not. Also, some are "proudly made in USA", others are made in China (if they are so proud to make them in the USA, then why move production to China???) ... show more

    • PERFECT jeans!
I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE NYDJ jeans. I typically get the Women's Marilyn Straight Leg Jeans that fit PERFECTLY!!! The rise is perfect and the length of the pants hit the tops of my feet as shown in the picture. I was skeptical, at first, at ordering a size smaller than I typically wear; however, if I had ordered my regular size, the jeans would have been too large. (I like them to show my shape but not so tight that it looks like I poured myself into them. I am not overweight, but do have a "curvy" figure.) The thin stripe of black rhinestones down the side of each leg provides a "dressy" look with the comfort of jeans. They are great for night-clubbing, going to the theatre, etc. ... show more
