After over 40 years as an audio technician I have tried tested and installed numerous different power amps over the years. Having purchased this one the quality of construction is very good, the end sound result is excellent and it does produce the RMS figures stated, in fact it exceeds them so top marks to NVX for being transparent unlike many other of the manufacturers. The only negatives I can say are 1. the mounting holes are small, meaning you have to use smaller bolts or screws than one would like, secondly there is no illuminated logo, this is surprising considering the rest of the quality of this unit, not only does a lighted logo look great aesthetically, but also especially on a boat where the unit is under cover for protection, you cannot at a glance see if its turned on in certain installation positions without crawling under it and looking for the little blue LED light, you dropped the ball there NVX. Re the smallish mounting holes i used two strips of aluminum with keyhole type holes so as instead of holding the amp in the air whilst you mark or drill the holes, you can install the screws into the boat fiber wall the just hang the unit over the screws to then secure the two bottom screws. The actual unit is mounted to the ally strips with nylon washers and stainless bolts. Highly recommend this unit as its a class above most at the price and certainly equal in quality to Fusion, Garmin etc which are 4 times the price. GOOD JOB NVX Last but not least this is installed on a 2001 Sea Ray 240 Sundeck in the under helm area. The Amps are supplied by their own battery and not connected to the boats other two main batteries, this solves any interference problems along with not stranding you at sea should the great sounds you've been listening too, then drain your main batteries and you cant start the boat.

Nvx is a great quality product for the price, the sound quality of this amplifier is great! It's power holds up well as well it does get a little warm but nothing I was concerned about if you trying to decide on which amplifier to get nvx amps are great especially for the price!

They also seems to package the electronics smaller than the competitors. Got one running to 2 vcw nvx 122d wired at 2 ohms. And it absolutely pushes rated power if not more. A bit of a battery hog so make sure your electrical is on point. I plan on buying a 2nd one of these and push each vcw at 2ohm 1350 per sub once I break them in properly. Honestly this may be the best amp for rated true power at this price point and by a fair margin at that. I’m glad I discovered this company.

I was very excited to get this amp but it will not hold its settings at all. I’ve set them over 5 times with an o-scope and calculated my wattage each time. I get it sounding great and then the next day it sounds like crap. Each time this happens, the wattage changes and the subsonic filter has to be adjusted also. This purchase was a mistake. Never had an issue with my last amp, a hifonics 1400 watt that was 10 years old before it finally went bad. All the good reviews are covering the bad reviews which say the same issues here. It also gets extremely hot with only running about 800 watts at 2 ohms. This thing is junk!

Great amp, only issue I have with it is that I get a big deep pop when the amp.turns on and its everytime I turn on my head unit. Lacked alot of power in certified watts department. Not even at 14.1 volts. I had a 15 zvx in a 4 cube enclosure tuned at 32 hertz and my sk1500.1 blew this amp out the water. Its clean bass but it doesn't do anywhere near its rated power, not even at 1 ohm.. Also the power inputs are bearly 4 gauge, I had to use undersized 4 gauge welding wire to fit it into the power inputs. Even brands like sk1500.1 or ap1500.1 amps are more efficient than this 1700.1 nvx.
