I have a diabetic cat and I'm fussy about the food he eats. He began having bowel issues with the long time food I've fed him so I began checking out other foods, read labels on many cat foods and this one had the best ingredients for him. He took to it right away and within a few days had no bowel pproblems, he looks forward to his feeding times.

My cat LOVES nutro . She’s been eating it for years. I’ve recently switched to the senior one since she’s older now and still have had no problems, she still loves it. No puking issues and stomach issues with it. Only issue is, is that it’s getting so hard to find in stores now. What is up with that? Walmart no longer sells it, target no longer sells it, and Petco never has it in stock. I hope they aren’t discounting it because my kitty loves this food!

I want my senior kitties to love this healthy "senior" Nutro formulation, but instead it leans toward their least favorite of 3 kinds of kibble they always have access to. They'll eat it a little bit, but typically only if their nearby "other" option is a stale portion. By comparison, they have great interest in eating "usual" Nutro, which is the hairball prevention "adult cat" version. That said, I've actually had very variable results with Nutro over the last 2 years (compared with previous years), with the cats rejecting bags with certain date codes. It seems like the company might be changing suppliers or factories as supply chain woes upended things, and the cats are picking up on that? It's hard to tell if it's this formulation or the current Nutro ingredients. Some recent bags of Nutro (including the most recent bag of this flavor) have also had "zipper issues"-- the tear-open tab will be malformed, or not cut cleanly out from the back of the bag. Those won't rip open cleanly, and trying to cut them open can then break the zipper-lock, making it so the bag can't be resealed, and you have to find another way to store it. Annoying. Your mileage may vary - cats are notoriously fickle eaters. But after 16 bags of this type, which have drawn apathetic interest for at least the last 3 bags, and only modest interest before that, I'm thinking of dropping this senior formulation from my rotation entirely.
