The media could not be loaded. I am new to brewing beer and bought this to help get me started. I have a friend that was going to show me how but unfortunately had to go out of town before we could brew the first batch. I did create an unboxing video to help others see what is in the box and how it is packaged. The brewing machine was packaged very well and protected by a nice layer of foam. It is made of stainless steel and is very shiny and feels of good quality. There are gradiation marks on the inside for measuring the liquid and has a malt basket with removeable filter screen. This version does not have a circulation pump but Nutrichef does sale a model that has that feature. I like the digital display and it is easy to see. There are 3 preset programs or you can adjust to the recipe that you are brewing and can add up to 5 different settings during the Mashing phase. You will need more than just this machine to finish brewing a batch of beer which is why I have not used it yet. When my friend returns we will update this review and comment on how well the machine works. ... show more

I love it. It makes homebrewing so much easier. Takes about 1 hour 20 min to bring to a boil. I love how the basket lifts up and remains in place. Thermometer is off a few degrees but I just reprogrammed to what it thinks the temperature is. I would highly recommend The bottom of the strainer is in the bottom of the box wrapped in paper. I'll preface this by stating there is a card inside the box asking to review within 7 days of delivery for a 1 year warranty. So far the product seems pretty decent. I brewed my first batch last night, which took quite longer than I expected. I'm used to extract brewing in an 8 gallon kettle on my stove, which typically takes 3 hours from start to pitching yeast. This device takes significantly longer to heat up, so it took at least 4.5 hours from start to finish. The thermometer in it is also not accurate, as I don't think I ever read over 206F even though the water was boiling at 212F. It is easy enough to use, and the pump seems like a necessity. I'll also say that the packaging on the machine and parts was very odd, with the false bottom wrapped and hidden between styrofoam and the bottom of the box. It was also bent because of that poor packaging job... We'll see how the beer turns out and I'll update the review afterwards. ... show more

    • Awesome Electric Kettle for Full Boils

I am a new brew maker and I bought this kettle so that I can easily do full boils on 5 gallon brews, and easily siphon without having to move the pot around. I am really impressed with the quality of the unit. It is a single walled vessel with a removable wart basket and removable filter, making it really easy to clean. The measuring marks stamped on the inside making measuring volume super easy. The inside finish is really clean with no exposed welds, meaning it will be easy to keep it clean. The LCD screen is bright and easy to read, and the pre programmed settings makes changing temperatures simple. The built in spigot is essential for me since I didn’t want to be dealing with siphons. I can simply attach a tube and have it gravity flow to a fermenting bucket. I also like the glass lid so you can keep an eye on the brew during boil. I don’t plan on using the recipe book initially, but it’s definitely a nice touch. Overall I am really pleased with the purchase. Next step is to make an immersion chiller and test out my first batch. ... show more

    • Product Doesn't work and no support
I bought this product looking to upgrade my home brewing system. Unfortunately, the product is unable to bring 5 or more gallons of water or wort to a roiling boil, which is critical to getting a good brewing outcome. When I called NutriChef for support, I was told that they have no support over the phone and I needed to email. I emailed and received a response that they were looking into the issue and would get back to me. When I didn't receive any response in over a week, I emailed back. They asked more questions and told me they would get back to me. Another week and nothing. I email back and they write back with the same questions I already answered. I then called their support line again and was told they would look into it. I receive another email with the same questions as before. It has been 3 months since I purchased this product and I used one time for a failed brew. I haven't been able to use it again as it is unable to boil the full amount of water. This product was cheaper than other comparative products and even though it had a small number of reviews, they were very positive so I thought I would risk it. That was a mistake. I now have a $450 brewing machine that can't boil wort. It is clear after dealing with this issue that there is no support for this product in the US. The phone number simply goes to a company that routes you to email support in China. It is possible I just got unlucky and others will be fine but I am now doubting the small number of positive reviews for the product. What I can say is if the machine does have an issue, you are stuck with it. The company gives absolutely no support or warranty to the products. I would recommend doing a full brew with the machine before the return window closes. ... show more

I have only been brewing for about 3 months. There is lots to learn! So many products on the market its hard to tell what to go with in order to have a system that doesn't take up a lot of space. I chose this system mainly because of price and the pump. I had a small pump before and it was nice to have something where the system included one. It also is on the larger side so plenty of space to make 5-6 gallon brews. It came to my door extremely well packaged. It was wrapped completely with padding on all sides. No scratches or imperfections. Initial impressions when I pulled it out of the box was, wow, this thing looks very nice. The instructions were well written and layed out very nice. So far, I haven't had any complaints and I am very excited to brew some more beer! ... show more
