So this really is an amazing blender. It does everything it says it does, and I could probably use it as a portable wood chipper. But holy smokes is it big... my old countertop blender is only 2/3 the size of this beast. Now, it's gonna make a LOT of margaritas next summer... like I'm going to be putting some of my friends under the table after the 2nd batch... but for purposes of making the occasional smoothie (I rarely make them), it's really overkill. IF you are a smoothie person, and you do a LOT of stuff with a blender, then this is your dream blender. For me, it's a whole lot of overkill, and definitely takes up too much room on the counter (so it's taking up a lot of space in a cabinet). If I had to describe this Nutribullet blender in one word, it would be WOW. It is by far my most useful kitchen gadget. I am the meal preparer of the family, so knowing this amazing machine is there to help with making smoothies, soups, salsa, or frozen adult beverages is reassuring. This Nutribullet blender comes with a high powered 1400-watt base. To put this into perspective, the average household blender is generally tops out at about 1000 watts, so at 1400, this has some very real power. The blender pitcher is very large, as it has a 64-ounce capacity. This means you can make a half-gallon of daiquiris or margaritas at one time! This will definitely come in handy when friends are over for Taco Tuesday. Plus, the lid has a pour spout to ensure smooth pouring with no mess. Last but not least, a tamper comes with this Nutribullet because sometimes thicker ingredients need an extra push towards the blades. I have had this Nutribullet for just over a month now and I have used it a few times as I am still kind of trying to incorporate it into dinner preparations. I have been impressed each time, and have been thrilled with the results. I have made salsa a few times, and refried beans as well. Also we have enjoyed some frozen drinks too, some with ice, and a couple with ice cream as a dessert adult milkshake, delicious!!! Of course, I dreaded clean-up from the time I opened the box but was absolutely ecstatic to know that the blender and lid are both dishwasher safe. Just be sure to rinse out the blender as soon as you are done using it to prevent any of your food or drink from drying or solidifying on the blades. If you like smoothies or other blended foods or drinks, then you will love this blender. It can make a large quantity to make sure all of your friends and family can partake in the deliciousness. It is a very high quality piece of kitchen machinery, and it is dishwasher safe. There really is very limited risk as well since the price point is amazing at less than $125. Some years ago, a family member gifted me one of the small personal blenders that Nutribullet makes, and so I already have a great opinion of this brand. And this 8-cup blender completely exceeds my expectations. I have another really good quality blender that I've had for many years that costs more than this one and, in some ways, I prefer this one. When I assembled this blender, I really liked how easily and securely everything fit together. It all just snapped and clicked right into place. The base is not heavy, and it is easy to pick up with two hands. The base is also tall, and the blender pitcher holds 8 cups, and this design gives the blender a height that makes it look really great on the countertop. And because the pitcher holds 8 cups, there is ample room to use it to make whatever comes to mind. I feel inspired to use it to try to make things a bit outside of the box in the future such as soups. The blender comes with a nice recipe booklet which can be great for getting ideas. So far, I've just used it for smoothie making and I'm thrilled with the results. I blended chopped pecans, chia seeds, yoghurt, fresh pineapple chunks, honey, barley green powder, water and a bag of mixed frozen fruit and the result was a smoothie that was perfectly blended, light, fluffy and almost dessert like in texture. Although the blender offers the option of manually choosing the speed, my favorite feature is the auto cycle because when using it, the machine just sort of takes control and takes charge and the result is a perfect smoothie. This blender is very thoughtfully designed, fun to use and offers excellent value at its price point. I highly recommend it. ... show more
