In the past I have loved this product, but this last batch had no vanilla flavoring at all, and, worse yet, was extremely bitter to the point of being inedible. I wouldn't have complained were it not for the fact that the batch before that was also bitter. In fairness to the company, though, that time they did replace it with another that, while not up to the product's previous flavor quality, was ok.     • Not so Chalky like Many of the Others
It's really hard for me to get excited about protein powder when most of them just taste like chalk. I like to drink protein shakes in the morning and as a result I've tried almost everything out there. Shakeology is marketed as the Holy Grail of shakes but its WAY over priced and it tastes like chalk! I decided to buy my own individual ingredient powders (cocao; macs; wheatgrass and barley powders; and exotic fruit powders for differing properties, and just make my own super mixture. This powder is just rice protein, that's it! It's also just $12 for a nice big container. Buy your own and mix, but be careful not to try to put too many ingredients together. It tastes awful when you do that. Just stick to a few ingredient powders, fruit, and the nut milk of your choice. Four stars for a protein powder is really good in my books. I'd rate most of them a 2! The only powder that I'd rate a 5 are the Amazing Grass Kids powders in berry and chocolate. ... show more

    • Really good product for those who have never used it
Rice Protein powered was recommended for me and I just bought the one that seemed to have the best reviews. I found the powder to be easy to use though there is a tendency for the powder to swirl up in the air. There was no chalky aftertaste that people complain about. I use it daily and don't really notice it unless I blend it for less than 10 seconds. I was surprised about my experiences as some of the reviewers indicated some problems with the chalky taste. The shipping was great and arrived almost as soon as I ordered it. Came by USPS and was in great shape. I am glad I bought this and will buy more when the time comes. Good stuff ... show more

    • Organic Rice Protein, plain and simple!
The only *organic* rice protein powder I've found that doesn't add extra ingredients unnecessarily. For example, Garden of Life brand adds a lot of extra stuff (14 different raw sprouts, probiotics, enzymes, chlorella, tocopherols), which all may be "healthy," but not desired when you just want a plain and simple protein powder. Other popular brands are not organic and questionably sourced. I've found Nutribiotic to have a pleasant mild taste and work well in all recipes, bake (muffins) or no-bake (protein bars). ... show more

I didn’t like the taste and a bit grainy for my taste. It’s probably better then most for you but just not for me. I like a thicker consistency and more vanilla flavor. I am not much of a protein drinker so of course I will find one that is more like a milk shake, I don’t think vegan is for me.

    • Not bad but nothing I would purchase again.
It's okay, I'm used to plant based protein powders so the taste didn't bother me too much but there are better options out there for the price as far as quality ingredients and even taste. I won't be purchasing again.

Buy with confidence. I've tried many others and this is hands-down the best. It is a little bit difficult to mix in water with just a spoon, but with a shaker or even a blender it is easy. Made from organic sprouted whole grain rice, It's just rice protein powder and vanilla, nothing else. No added sugar or chemicals or other ingredients of any kind, which could account for some reviewer's saying they think it tastes chalky. You can always mix it with coconut water like I do, or into your favorite smoothie. ... show more

not sure if the "natural vanilla flavor" is the name of an artificial vanilla flavor or ??? I'm very sensitive to artificial colors and flavorings. I believe unless it says "natural vanilla extract" I cannot be sure. Hmm. Otherwise is a very good substitute for whey or soy protein powders...whey is milk protein and I'm not consuming milk (anti-inflammatory diet) and soy contains phyto-estrogens which mess up my hormones because I don't need to funky with my hormones in any way. ... show more
