  • Gets the job done
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 5 Pound (Pack of 1)
In my opinion no protein shakes really taste GOOD and I’ve tried so many (both plant based or not). So I wouldn’t go into this thinking the taste will sweep you off your feet. I think you can only really make this one taste better or less noticeable if you use some sort of sugar to cover that flavor up. If you aren’t going to use anything but fresh or frozen fruit for your sugar, the taste is still going to be underlying. I hate protein SHAKES in general and I’ve never had one that i could genuinely say tasted good in my life. If anything, some shakes are just easier to get down than others lol. Instead of shakes I’ve been using a blender bottle and putting about one scoop in mixed with some oat milk then adding to the cereal of my choice. I still could taste the powdery consistency in my milk so I added a tiny bit of maple syrup to really kick its a$$ into shape and it was fire. Ended up being over 50g protein after adding some hemp hearts on top too. 50 grams of protein for a bowl of life cereal is crazy. ... show more

  • It is what it is.
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 5 Pound (Pack of 1)
This product is what it says it is. Pea protein. Meaning it tastes like salty peas, and if you try to mix it in smoothies you will ruin the smoothie.... The only way I have found to eat this is in soups... It tastes like split peas, SO the only logical conclusion is to make a faux split pea soup. I make a soup with miso, spinach, broccoli, and a couple scoops of this protein powder, use an immersion blender to thicken the soup a little. That's the only way I can eat this protein powder. I can't fault this protein powder because it is what it says it is. Just dont think you can buy this and mask it in a smoothie, you can't. It's taste is insanely strong. No sweetener or flavoring will truly mask it, and it would be a huge amount of time to try. I say just lean into it's split pea taste. Anything you would use split peas with you can use this with probably. ... show more

  • Perfection In A Protein Powder
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 5 Pound (Pack of 1)
What is perfection in a protein powder? 1). Excellent Price; 2). No Issues With Taste 3). Clean pertaining to heavy metals issue; 4). Fantastic amount of protein per serving; 5) Low in calories; 6). Blendable; 7). Non-chalky texture I love this protein powder for all of the above reasons. I purchased the neutral one to give it a try and the price was definitely in my budget compared to all the other fancy-pansy protein powders on the market laden with who knows what (as far as heavy metals are concerned). I blended it with just water, 1/2 tbsp of Stevia and 1/2 tbsp pure unsweetened cocoa powder. It mixed smoothly. No, it doesn’t taste like your fat prominent, sugar-filled diabetic inducing McDonald’s milkshake, but there is absolutely nothing discerning about the taste of this clean, neutral-tasting product. It is also the type of product to which one can add fruit or anything desired, and it will take on the taste of the added products (which is a plus!); this is because, despite other questionable reviews, this does NOT taste like peas or vegetables of any kind. At worst, it simply tastes like nothing. Thus, you can make it take on ANY taste desired by adding whatever you wish- or not. My opinion only: Perhaps this protein powder is not for the sugar spoiled pallets of the world- or even those not totally dedicated to good, clean health. But for me, this is a perfect product (which hopefully will not be altered for picky tongues), which I will continue to purchase. Thank you! ... show more

  • No gas, but tastes like a$$
Flavor Name: Chocolate Size: 5 Pound (Pack of 1)
Pro: No gas or upset stomach at all anymore! I’m lactose intolerant, so whey proteins are horrid for me. I tried plant based and other pea proteins and my stomach was still a mess. I have a hard time getting my protein in and I was at my wits end. My doctor finally told me to find a pea protein without the artificial sweeteners because they tend to cause a lot of gas as well. My husband went on the hunt for no whey or artificial sweeteners, and NAKED PEA Protein is what he found. I decided to give it a try and I am so glad I did. I no longer have gas or upset stomach 24/7. Con: It tastes like a$$. It’s literally grainy gross. I do two scoops with 24oz of water. The first time I drank it I almost threw up. But after awhile, I’m used to it and it doesn’t phase me (which is good cause I wouldn’t let the tub go to waste). I got the chocolate one. I literally only mix it with water. I’m sure it might be ok if mixed with something else or added to the blender with fruit, but water is quick and fast for me on the go. I am glad I got this. I wish I was higher protein for two scoops you have to use to get to 25g, but it is what it is. In the end, I am glad I can enjoy a protein shake post workout and not have an upset stomach with farting my husband out of bed later. He’s happy too- he can finally wax his nose hairs again without fear of dying of toxic fumes in his sleep. 🙃 ... show more

  • Adds protein to my morning smoothie
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 5 Pound (Pack of 1)
First, I think they should do a double pack rather than the very conspicuously enormous container that doesn't fit in cabinets well. But I do drink it in my smoothie every morning to make my liquid breakfast last til about 1pm when I'm hungry again. My drink is 1 banana, 1 ripe avacado, scoop of ground flax seed, scoop of pea protein, powdered herbal vitamin, powdered buffered Vit C, Almond milk and a good rounded TBS of instant coffee. This is literally my caffiene and energy drink all in one in the morning. If I'm growing fresh spinach, I grind that up in my Magic blender and add it. Unless I half the avacado, I have to spoon it out to eat bc it's a thickener. With the coffee, I can't taste it anyway, so that's not an issue. The product states made from USA Canada peas, but it's processed in China, but I'm sure a lot of meat proteins (chicken, pork) are processed there as well. Wish it weren't so, but that's the world in which we live. Not sure if product is tested for metals at USA inndependent lab, but it should test samples here if they don't already. Undecided it I'll buy it again. Lots of pros and cons. ... show more

  • Can’t Beat the Price
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 5 Pound (Pack of 1)
I like this protein powder and I would purchase again. However some things you should know. It’s settles and clumps at the bottom, if you wait too long to drink it. You need to blend it extremely well. The things I like about it, is the taste isn’t that bad. I add a water enhancer to my water before I mix it with this and it’s good. It’s different from all the other protein drink but that doesn’t make it bad. Plus, as my title says, the price you can’t beat. ... show more

  • Blend it with an apple and it tastes great.
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 5 Pound (Pack of 1)
Of COURSE it tastes bland, it's unflavored pea protein, but if you throw it in a blender with an apple, it actually tastes pretty good (and won't make you gag anymore). Taste aside, it has a lot of protein per serving and only 120 calories, so it's great for if you're doing a cut or just want more control over your caloric intake. ... show more

  • Taste nasty but manageable
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 1 Pound (Pack of 1)
The reviews about the taste and consistency are true. It's really chalky and clumpy so stirring it into something, adding and shaking, or adding it to a food mix is out of the question if you want a smooth consistency, complete blend, and to actually taste what you planned on making. The only thing to counter the taste takeover of this product is a banana. I use a ninja blender and have managed to create smoothies and beverages with a juice consistency using this product so I will be purchasing again. YOU CANNOT RETURN THIS ITEM. My initial order came opened and the only reason Amazon credited me was because I bought another one. ... show more

  • I really don't like it
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 1 Pound (Pack of 1)
BUT, I'm just use to isolate. I have a friend who only uses this stuff and he swears by it. So definitely don't just read my review and not give it a try. My biggest complaint is that it just tastes.. weird? I don't know how to explain it. I wanted to mix it into other items to make ice cream, or oats. But it was a really strong flavor that I didn't find appealing. But give it a go! ... show more

  • Good quality & price for quantity
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 5 Pound (Pack of 1)
I started using this because I was tired of my vegan protein powder having so many carbs in it! I made the switch and will definitely be purchasing again. I love that it is just one ingredient- so trustworthy and simple. It was definitely a shock moving from a higher-carb protein powder to this one due to its bland flavor, but I should've expected it considering it is pretty much straight protein. I love combining 2 scoops of this with a tablespoon of cacao powder and unsweetened almond milk after the gym! Like healthy chocolate milk. I occasionally add a packet of stevia powder if I'm feeling like it is too bitter for me that day. When I mix into a green juice or smoothie no sweetener needed, especially when adding fruit! It blends really well into anything that I mix. Love this product and will definitely buy again when I run out. ... show more

  • The best quality plant protein at a good price
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 1 Pound (Pack of 1)
Out of necessity, I moved away from whey protein powders a while ago. Since then, I've used about 6 different plant protein powders. There were a few that I kind of enjoyed, but they always had some kind fake sweetener in them...not to mention other questionable ingredients. I don't need my protein shake to taste like a fake-sweet diet chocolate bar. I just need it to do the job, not have a lot of junk/filler ingredients, and not taste bad. I'm on my 5th order of the unsweetened Naked Pea powder, and it's Exactly what I was looking for. One ingredient: pea protein. No sugar or sweetener. No dairy. 28g of protein in a serving. A really reasonable price. I went so far down the protein powder rabbit hole that I even did a spreadsheet on the price per gram of protein on several powders. Naked Pea was close to the lowest cost, when buying the smaller 15 serving bottle. But the cost lessens even more when you buy the large size (which they didn't offer when I did the spreadsheet), so it may be the best deal out there for high quality powders. Oh, and it mixes well in cold liquids. Just give it a strong shaking for about minute. Totally mixed. All that to say, I highly recommend it...obviously. If you don't mind the higher up-front cost, buy the big bottle. It'll save you a decent amount of money. ... show more

  • Good buy
Flavor Name: Chocolate Size: 5 Pound (Pack of 1)
As others have stated, the taste is so-so but tolerable. I've only made one smoothie with banana so far. The taste is a bit chalky with a little little sweetness and chocolate taste. I believe it's the best value for plant based protein on Amazon so I will continue to use it. Minus 1 star due to taste. ... show more

  • Unflavored is pretty good once you get used to it
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 1 Pound (Pack of 1)
The first sip always makes me cringe by surprise every time without failure, but after that, my taste buds get used to it and I find it rather enjoyable, healthy, and refreshing. I add 2 scoops with 2 tbspn chia seeds + benefiber and I pour in 1/2 cup of cold water and stir it until it's a paste, and then fill the remaining cup until it's all blended (doesn't get clumpy at all!). Now I can't exactly describe the initial taste because it tastes pretty shocking, but then it starts to taste like earthy peas with bouncy chia seeds and I'm ok with that because it gives me the protein I need without any of the sugar or additives. ... show more

  • Worth it for the price point
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 5 Pound (Pack of 1)
I won't say I'm head over heels, but considering the price and protein content, I'm quite pleased. I usually toss this into my oatmeal or coffee to give my protein intake a bump. The texture's a bit gritty, but it's bearable and normal for a plant-based protein.
