I found out this is the protein powder my favorite salad and smoothie place uses so I had to purchase it. I got the plain pea flavor and it definitely has that pea taste to it but I really don’t mind it. For some reason I like that slightly earthy taste. What’s also great is there is no grittiness to it when you blend it. I really don’t like whey protein, it smells bad, tastes weird, and makes my stomach hurt, so I’m glad I was able to find this one. I’d recommend giving it a try. Other vegan protein powders I’ve tried tend to overcompensate for the taste by making it sickeningly sweet in an artificial way. The best pea protein out there. I am so glad I found it I was getting so tired of all the unnecessary ingredients and sweeteners that are bad for you. Yes it doesn’t taste like desert but it’s not supposed to! You are consuming it for your health. This protein is great, I can feel a difference in my muscles, but... The taste overpowers many fruits and there is always a gritty texture, no matter how long you blend it. That being said, I love the results I am getting with it and will purchase another bucket when mine runs out.

This seems high quality and mixed well. It tastes better than whey in my opinion. It does taste like peas, but it's not unpleasant. The vanilla is nice. I just bought another one.

Gold standard whey protein 5 pounds cost 83$ as of March 20, 2024 compared to the naked pea protein at $55. FLAVOR PROFILE butt cheeks. Its absolutely unredeemable on its own. Its dry, chalky, grainy, sand like, no hints of chocolate. SOLUTION: Get the protein powder you enjoy and add a mix of it. For me I use a 1:1 ratio of the pea protein and the gold standard chocolate whey protein. You get more bang for buck. CONCLUSION: If you were to buy pea protein on its own don't bother it taste like chalk however mixed with another protein source it becomes a great value item. ... show more

Quick review from someone who has used various other protein brands out there. This protein gets 5 stars from me. Why you ask? 1. You get decent amount of protein at a great cost. 2. It's non-dairy. 3. The vanilla flavor is one of the most neutral tasting I have tried. Why is this important to me? I'm a simple person and I don't want to experiment with every flavor a company comes out with hoping to find one that is delicious only to find out it tastes atrocious (it's happened). However, I can drink this several times a week and not get sick of it. 4. It blends well with water and/or almond milk (I use a combination of both) in a generic shaker that does not need a wisk or strain. Really wanted a cheaper and more "eco-friendly" alternative to whey protein. The quality is great. The taste is reaaally bad, however. Tried vanilla because other reviews mentioned how awful the chocolate is. I guess this is why they don't make pea candy bars. Doesn't absorb well either, so you have to mix it with liquid... more than you'd usually use, and it creates a sort of slurry that you try and guzzle quickly so you don't retch. It's sort of like a punishment, really, but isn't that what working out is too? Maybe a little? Luckily the jar is ENORMOUS so you can punish yourself for the foreseeable future. ... show more

Plant-based and should have all the protein and amino acids you'd want. The carb content is super low for those on keto or low-carb diets. The flavor is subtle and is easily overpowered by any other ingredients you might add. It also mixes/blends well with usually no clumps. There is one question, all though the sodium quantity is relatively low why isn't it zero or close to it if the only ingredient is yellow peas? But maybe my math is off lol. I've purchased this product a few times and I still think it's a quality product at a great value point. I would suggest maybe making the bottle smaller at the same 5lb weight as it seems like a huge waste of plastic when the top half is just filled with air. ... show more
