I was happy with this runner rug at first, but the bright colors muted after several months and now it looks cheap and drab. The short sides don't have trim. They are folded under and crudely glued to the back of the rug, creating an elevated 2 inch strip on either end, and exposing the mesh on which the rug is woven, adding to the worn cheap look. However, I did get a partial refund after complaining about the glue, that was sticking out of the side. The fabric is rather hard and unpleasant to touch. ... show more

    • Vibrant and soft, beware the strange smell

The colors on this rug do not disappoint. It is bright and cheerful! I put it in our dining room, which has a southwest-ish theme going, and it looks and feels dreamy in there. That said, it had a very off-putting smell for some time after we got it, and it required quite a bit of airing out. My cat inadvertently escaped through a window when we were airing this rug out (we found him crouched under the back porch, so the story has a happy ending). So I will always think of the terrible smell and chasing my stupid/useless cat around under the porch until the wee hours of the morning when I see it: I suppose this is how memories are made. My fluffy dog is very nervous. She is so spooked walking on the laminate floors she sometimes has a problem summoning the courage to get to the next carpet. The puppy doesn’t seem to know what he’s running on, he hits the throttle so hard his legs spin out underneath him and rugs go flying! A lesser floor covering would end up crumpled in the corner after one wrestling session, leaving the nervous dog stranded on a desert island. This rug not only looks nice and feels nice, it is large enough to be anchored firmly under the couch, allowing my pets to play happily and freely in the living room.
