  • The Best Windshield Coating Ever!
Nu Finish is the detailer's little secret for coating windshields. It's not a wax which leaves oily residue, but rather it's silicone based and repels water, lets your wipers glide effortlessly and generally coats your windshield so that wipers aren't even needed in slow rain. Simple to apply, easy wipe-off, and your glass is coated for MONTHS! ... show more

  • Longevity is atrocious
I judge the quality of a product like this by how well and for how long it repels water. This Nu-Finish paste weathered away alarmingly quickly. After just one week, water was hardly beading. After three weeks, you'd think my car hadn't been waxed in years by the way water stuck to the paint and spread over the surface like a sheet. I've been using waxes and protectants on my cars for about 35 years now, and I've never run across a product that wore off as quickly as Nu Finish. Maybe that's how Nu Finish is supposed to work, or maybe I got a can from a defective batch. UPDATE APRIL 11, 2021: A week ago, I decided to retest Nu Finish in a side-by-side comparison with my favorite wax, just in case my first experience with the product was a fluke. I applied my favorite wax to one side of my hood, and Nu Finish to the other. After one week, well, look at the photo and you be the judge. ... show more

  • Even with no wax in this product, do not apply in direct sunlight.
One small quibble. The makers of the product say that it's perfectly fine to apply and remove this product in direct sunlight, but that wasn't my experience. I figured as there is no wax in this product, those claims were probably correct. After washing the car, I applied and removed in small areas, but being in direct sunlight on a warm-ish day, the car heated up as I made my way around the car. By the time I got to the last few square feet, the polish was difficult to remove. Very labor intensive. Something to consider when you use this product. ... show more

  • Wax on, wax off, equals shine!
I’ve been someone that has relied on washing and waxing my car from my pops or a buddy who knows how to detail. I was stepping into a new world with taking the next level in maintaining my vehicle. Keep it simple, wax the NuFinish paste with your handy wax applicator and let sit until haze. I give it some time to set on the paint, I even apply a coat to another section of the car and then proceed to wax off with a microfiber towel the previous section I waxed on after the application. Don’t let it sit on your car too long, it won’t be as easy to take off, but nonetheless I was able to take of the finish with my towel. And what a shine! I do advise taking it up a notch by claying your vehicle first and proceed to put the NuFinish on. It will only enhance the shine imo. I was at a self car wash for about 2 hours wash, dry, clay, and NuFinish polishing. I would say taking that TLC step has paid off. I’m considering adding another coat in about two days. I’m proud of myself, it’s not as daunting as I thought it would be. I would say I need to master the art of when to take the finish off for the next go around. Get some NuFinish in ya life :) ... show more

  • Still great after all these years
I used to use Nu Finish back in the 70's. Not sure how I got away from it but I'm glad I gave it another try. I applied it on my daily driver in October, and 4 months later water still beads. I live in a cold and snowy part of the country, so between the road deicing chemicals and general winter road gunk, vehicles are exposed to tough conditions. So far, i'm really pleased with Nu Finish's durability. It was really easy to apply, with a consistency between that of yogurt and peanut butter (not crunchy!). After a short drying time it wiped off easily; easier than the paste wax I had been using. The reviews from people who found the can hard to open are from people who shouldn't be waxing their own car...or maybe even driving. And for those who don't like it's smell, well, it has a light chemical smell. IT'S CAR POLISH, not hand lotion! As with most polishes/waxes, you need to try to avoid getting it on plastic trim, otherwise it'll take a little extra work to remove it. I'm glad I found my way back to Nu Finish and actually look forward to my next polishing experience. ... show more

  • The only thing that will remove it sooner than that is a few good hail storms (I don't have a garage)
Been using it for 10 years. I always owned black cars, I apply it in direct sunlight and let it BAKE on. It will literally steam when applying on a hot summer day. Last a full year. The only thing that will remove it sooner than that is a few good hail storms (I don't have a garage).

  • Cheap alternative to expensive waxes!
I used very expensive car waxes in the past, from Zymol to Griot's. The first time I applied this paste, the car took a better shine and lasted much longer, so I no longer have to spend upwards of three hours every three months waxing the car. Even though it says once a year, I do it once every six months and the car stays 'wet' the whole time. ... show more

  • Nu Finish Continues to Rule.....
This is a great wax. Easy to apply and easy to wipe off and buff. Looks great when done. Doesn’t last a year in FL heat so plan on 2 to 3 times a year if your car does not have the protection of a garage. Have tried many different waxes over the years but keep coming back to Nu Finish. Even better than the sprays. ... show more
