I love the fact that this is both a desk and a bed frame, both of which I needed badly for all of my stuff. The desk fits my studio equipment wonderfully well, the extra shelf space is nice, and the size of the bed frame helps me have enough stuff under it to turn this into my own really awesome personal space. Despite being very tightly assembled, it feels like it is loose and rickety when I climb it, which bothers me a bit. Then again, I am right about 210, so I'm probably a little heavier than some users of this product. I have found that it is unfortunately very easy to bump my head on the frame, as I am just the right height to forget that it's there. I've gotten a few good bumps. My kids love their new loft beds. They are super easy to put up. Took about 1.5 hrs each. One of them was starting to squeak when on the bed so we went around and retightened the screws and that fixed the problem. They are pretty wobbly but the kids seemed to adjust pretty quickly. My son has a super small room and this helped free up some space. ... show more

It's nice overall and my kid love it BUT it's not as sturdy enough to feel fully safe. It shakes very easily. Mine came with a decent dent on the desk or shelf. My kid likes me to go up there with him and the ladder part hurts the bottom of my feet because the steps are pretty narrow. And of course, like I said, the bed shakes a lot. Wish the quality of the metal frame was better. Overall, my kids enjoys it. So I guess it's worth it. ... show more

I really like the bed. There were a few spots on it where the black material had been scraped against something and chipped off, but most of them were in areas that face the wall, so you'd never know. I forgot to take pictures of how it came. The photo above was done by me turning my office chair a bit too close to the desk, which was totally my fault, but I included it to show what a chip would look like. I've had loft beds before and this one is the most quiet to get on, the desk and shelves are sturdy. I'd rate it as a 4.5 if I could, the only reason it's not 5 is because of the scuffs upon arrival. ... show more

-Too many similarly sized screws, I haphazardly took out of the screws out of the plastic / cardboard container and several of them look almost identical. I had to use my calipers to double check the sizes they're so close, you probably won't be able to tell by feel / visually. -This should come with an L bracket to connect this bed to a wall stud, otherwise it moves too much. I added one myself. -Ladder is not sharp but it is narrow and square and hurts to climb. I replaced the ladder with a custom set of steps made from IKEA Kallax storage cubes. If you copy this, make sure the wider sides of the cubes are on top and bottom (or it could break) and they're screwed to the bed frame for safety. As well as each box is screwed together. These aren't solid wood so you need to over due it. -Need to take serious the weight limit as the bed supports are fairly thin metal. ... show more

I'm reviewing this because amongst items one must assemble, this bunk, by far, had the clearest, best written instructions. The header says have a helper...I'm a senior with some joint issues and I live along. I had the box delivered to a room inside (well worth the few extra dollars...I would not have been able to manage this on my own. I opened it and laid out all the pieces...lots of them. The next day I began assembly. Each piece is well marked; the 'parts' kit is also well marked so no confusion on which bolts etc to use where. Working alone I did the side assemblies. I had a visitor at an appropriate time...I needed another pair of hands to attach the main rails so it would stand up. She assisted with holding one side while I attached the rail to the other and did two lower bolts that would have been difficult for me to reach. After that, I was solo again. The manual suggests 1-1/2 hours to completion; I likely took more like 7 or 8 over the course of a couple of days. In the end I had one question and called the company. Super service with virtually no wait for a customer support agent. The bed supports me well and I am not a light-weight. If I had any complaint it was only that the Amazon offer did not show alternate colors. My bunk is gray; given the option I would have picked their blue model. Regardless, this is well made, very sturdy, and looks just fine. Every single fitting was in the right place and in the odd situation, one person can do the assembly job. ... show more

This bed was seriously a life saver. Perfect size. It was surprisingly sturdy, metal frames usually have a bit of a tilt, but this one barely moves, and I PULLED on it. It will more than likely be a forever bed for my kids. Also, kind of mean, but to everyone who says it's hard to assemble, it's literally 8 steps. Took 90 minutes. Nothing hard at all, and the "bent pieces" make up the ladder and sides LOL ... show more

I bought this for my office in case of late night stays; it took me around 3 hours to assemble and it holds up really well (I'm over 200ibs) but it does rock when I toss and turn.
