I wanted to review this to give my experiences using this machine and to counter the voices suggesting this is hard to clean. Like others when I was first reviewing my options, one of the reoccurring comments that I kept reading, was fear of having to clean it after use. I can assure you it is easy and takes only 10-15 minutes to completely clean and sanitize. This machine arrived on time and was easy to put together. I read reviews on what popcorn, oil, supplies to buy and settled on the following: I use the Great Northern 4oz All-in-one packs (popcorn, flavonoid salt and coconut oil) even though this is an 8oz Popcorn Machine - that is plenty of popcorn for 2-4 people. I also use the Snappy Butter Burst Popcorn butter / oil to drizzle on afterwards - it makes it just like theater popcorn! My pro-tip: I use half of the flavonoid salt in the GN All-in-one pack and it is perfect! Follow the provided directions to make: The left button is a warming light and also warms the bottom. Turn on the right button to heat the kettle and start the turning arm, for only two minutes, then switch it off, while you add your oil and salt. When it has melted, add your popcorn. Then turn back on the right switch. It will take approximately 3 more minutes to pop. Once the popping has slowed down to the last kernels (about a few pops every few seconds) turn off right switch and dump the kettle’s remaining kernels. That’s it! The kettle gets very hot quickly, so extended use or leaving it on will burn the oil and or popcorn. The cleaning is straightforward. I thoroughly clean the machine after 4-6 uses. Following each use, I will clean out the leftover popcorn and kernels and wipe the bottom of the machine with a water wet paper towel. When I clean out the entire thing (I have used several methods - found good idea from a guy on YouTube that steam cleans it). But ultimately, it is easy to just remove the kettle take it to the sink and clean it like any other pot. Then I use a vinegar and water mix 1/3 Vinegar and wash out the inside sides, top and bottom using paper towels. It works well and is quick and easy. I use windex on the outside only. Good luck and don’t forget the Snappy Butter Burst - it makes the popcorn even better! Enjoy. ... show more

The popcorn maker was so well packed that I can honestly say I’ve never received anything from any company that packed their product this carefully and scientifically! There are many parts and a complete set of tools, plus an assembly handbook. The instructions are extremely detailed and well-written, so a novice can put this high-quality popcorn maker together. It took 2-2.5 hours, but perhaps I could have done another one in 1/2 the time after understanding how it fits together. It is gorgeous and will be the highlight of my beautiful basement theater. I bought additional accessories like a metal popcorn scooper and big seasoning/salt shaker which will add to the whole popcorn making experience. This popcorn might be on the small side, but it's great. We bought it to accommodate an order for my wife's side business, and this machine did not disappoint. We made about 24 lbs of corn in two weeks, and the popcorn came out great every time. Making popcorn - I found it best to make half the suggested portion on the instructions to ensure you don't waste as many kernels. When making a whole batch, you will find that many kernels don't pop. I'm not sure why that is, but I found it's best to make half the recommended amount. The cleaning - I found it best to clean the pot after 4 to 5 batches of popcorn. I tried to push it, but you start getting a lot more burnt kernels, and the oil burned at the bottom builds up and becomes more challenging to clean. I use the good old barkeeper's friend to clean the pot, which works wonders. We used the dawn powerwash and hot water for the glass portion of the machine, and the machine cleaned up very well. We also made caramel and kettle corn, and the popcorn maker worked fine. If I had to find a con to this product, it would be the accessibility to add the ingredients. Maybe because I'm left-handed, it was not as easy, but even my kids and wife had a hard time. Other than that, this popcorn maker is good. ... show more

I like how heavy and sturdy this popcorn machine is and the size is perfect, not too big and not too small. Not cheap looking at all, well worth the price. I am sad that it arrived completely bent up. Takes away from the overall look. For the price I am not happy to have received a damaged product, way too heavy to be returned for a replacement. Was packaged fairly well so it really had to of been thrown around for this to happen. Not the fault of the shipper though. I haven't used this yet so I am giving 4 stars! We use this very frequently. I have the option that has the candy dispenser and it works well but you can only dispense smaller sized candies such as M&Ms and Reese's Pieces. I have Peanuts in one slot but sometimes they get stuck. I would recommend buying the popcorn ready to use packages as it makes it easy to use and no measuring. Some are too salty and we don't put in all the seasoning. Easy to assemble and rolls smoothly. Cleaning is very easy and not hard as others say. If you are lazy and don't want to clean that's another story. Basically wipe out inside the square glass area with water and dawn dish soap and then use a clean damp rag/paper towel. The pan comes out easily for handwashing. Manual is very good and can help answer all questions. ... show more
