  • Nicely made product, but do not like the laces
Size: 9.5 Color: Army Green
I like the fit of the shoes, and the thick cushion of the heel. When I am hunting I walk 35 - 45 minutes each day one way to where I hunt. I am carrying my stand and a pack, so easily an extra 50lbs, and I weigh around 195lbs. These felt great for that walk, with excellent heel cushion. However, I also like strong ankle support, without being tight across the top of my foot. Real laces allow an individual to tighten the laces cinching the boot around the ankle, yet leave the laces loose across the top of the feet. The laces that come with this boot are too slippery. If left the laces loose anywhere, they would redistribute that looseness to everywhere. So I have since swapped out the laces with standard boot laces. I will try the boots again in April for Turkey Season with the new laces. ... show more

  • Suitable for weekend excursions
Size: 10.5 Color: Army Green
Fit is as expected, nice looking shoe, comfortable especially in the toe box for a 10 1/2 wide male's foot. The army green is a good choice for a decent neutral look. Con: The laces! Theres a nylon parachute cord which tightens with a spring clasp, not sure of the durability & would probably suggest a spare pair of laces in your in back pack. The initial thought on the lace is it's an easy on and off but another issue is once adjusted to tighten you have quite a few inches left to flop about. If you tuck the lace you now have the plastic adjusters inside your shoe which is not very comfortable. The laces will be switched out to regular type hiking boot laces forsure. Overall not a bad shoe, will update if things change. ... show more

  • Fast On/Off, Great Traction
Size: 8 Color: Army Green
The media could not be loaded. I am loving the no tie laces. At first, they were a bit awkward, but these are super easy to use; The more I use them the better they get. They make getting the boots on and off so much faster and feel pretty secure. Unfortunately, when tightened, the lace is too long and flops on the ground. The instructions say you can put them in the tongue pocket, but that is under the laces. Fortunately, I realized you only need to push the plastic pull dongle under the lace where the pocket begins. Once you get past the idea of putting the whole lace in there it’s easy. Don’t lift up the tightened lace, just push the lace pull dongle in. I show this in my short video. So glad I took the time to get past this short learning curve. So far, it is totally worth it. The boots are immediately comfortable with no break-in needed. The fit is perfect, snug but not tight. Even though they are well over the ankle, they feel like comfortable beefy knock around shoes. There is plenty of padding around the ankles, and I’ve noticed no hot spots. These boots are comfortable pumping pedals while driving the car. They are super light!! My right one weighs 13.6 oz and the left one is 13.8 oz. Together that's only 1lb 11.4oz. All of the glue welds and seams are super super clean. These look like much more expensive shoes. There has been no water leakage with copious amounts of wet. As you can see in my video, walking through a creek was great with no leakage. I tested these boots across a wet normally slippery deck and noted the outsoles were pretty grippy. It was the same in light compressed snow, where I had difficulty forcing a slide. While I don't know how long this tread will last, I do know I don't have to be nearly as careful with where I step due to its excellent traction. These have been quite comfortable in 30°- 50°f weather. Though I have not done any vigorous hikes in them, I have been wearing them daily for the week I have had them and am very happy I grabbed them. ... show more

  • Nice boots. Fit great, light, and really comfortable.
Size: 10.5 Color: Grey/Orange
I ordered the grey/orange boots. The colors though are primarily black (lower), and gray (upper), with the orange on the soles and as a trim color.. Tried them on and they feel great out of the box, even with a thinner sock that I wouldn’t normally wear with boots; so they appear to run true-to-size. They have a reasonable amount of cushion to the insole, and the tongue is sewn at the sides, which must contribute to the weatherproof claim (though admittedly I haven’t dunked my foot in water to test it out). I was a little concerned about the weight (the listing indicates 15.2 ounces per boot, or nearly 1 pound each), but I can’t say they feel any heavier than other hiking boots I’ve worn; so I no longer consider weight a concern. The most interesting feature(s) for me is the shoe”laces” and the mesh bag for stowing the pull tab. The laces are really made of a nylon (?) – not traditional shoelace material – and once cinched up are locked in place with a friction tab. I can’t say if that is groundbreaking or not, but it’s certainly new to me. And, it works pretty well too. Once tightened up and the tab drawn, it looks to stay in in place without loosening. The listing also mentions a mesh bag on the upper for stowing the laces tab, and I have to say I didn’t see it at first. But sure enough, at the top of the tongue (under where the pull tab for the tongue) is a for all intents and purposes a secret pouch that’s open at the bottom, and where you can conveniently stash the tab. Clever. Or, you can always tuck it under the laces – either way should work just fine. The boots look very nice overall, and could easily work as casual every-day wear. Fit and finish are very nice, and the material looks like it will stand up to some abuse (which you would want). Overall, I’m pleased with this find. ... show more
