  • Pretty decent work boots
Size: 9 Color: Black
Still going after a couple weeks. Just as good as the manoa boots from Nike and any Timbs we have bought.

  • Fit was okay
Size: 11 Color: Dark Brown
Fit was okay, as it has a lot of volume, which is not good for someone with flat feet. As a result, I need to use spacers under the tongue to help with the fit. My foot feels stable when laced up and the heel stays in place for the most part. I haven't had the opportunity to hike in the boots going down a long incline to test how well they perform. My one concern is the ventilation of the boots. I realize the boots are suppose to be waterproof, however, there is no indication of what materials are used beyond leather, rubber, and "Oxford fabric." I cannot tell if these will release moisture from sweat or not. ... show more

  • Comfort from the first step.
Size: 10.5 Color: Dark Brown
Regarding hiking boots, the journey from box to trail often involves uncomfortable breaking in—a rite of passage for many outdoor enthusiasts. However, I recently discovered a pair of men's hiking boots that defy this unwritten rule, offering unparalleled comfort straight out of the box. These boots are not just a piece of gear but a game-changer for hikers who value comfort, durability, and protection against the elements. Their immediate comfort struck me when I slipped my feet into these boots. Unlike hiking boots that require a few wears to soften up and conform to your feet, these boots felt like they were made for my feet right from the start. This instant comfort did not come at the expense of quality or durability. On the contrary, these boots are built to withstand the rigors of rough terrain and the challenges of outdoor adventures. The boots' sturdy construction is evident in every stitch and seam, promising longevity and reliability on the trail. Whether navigating rocky paths, muddy trails, or snowy landscapes, these boots held up impressively, providing excellent traction and stability. The robust design ensures that your feet are well-protected against bumps and scrapes, allowing you to focus on the beauty of your surroundings rather than where you step. Another standout feature of these hiking boots is their ability to keep feet warm in cold conditions. My feet remained comfortably warm during chilly hikes, a testament to the boots' excellent insulation properties. This warmth does not come at the cost of excessive weight, as the boots maintain a reasonable balance between insulation and overall weight, making them suitable for long treks without causing fatigue. However, these boots might not be the best choice for hiking in hot weather. The same features that provide warmth and protection in colder climates can lead to overheating on warmer days. The boots' limited breathability means that your feet might get uncomfortably warm during hikes in high temperatures, so it's essential to consider the climate when planning your outdoor activities. In conclusion, these men's hiking boots are a remarkable find for anyone who values comfort, durability, and protection on their hiking adventures. They offer an exceptional experience from the first step, eliminating the dreaded break-in period and allowing you to enjoy your hikes from day one. While they may not be the best option for hot weather hikes, their performance in more excellent conditions and rough terrains is unmatched. If you're looking for a reliable pair of hiking boots that won't disappoint you, these are worth considering. ... show more

  • Stiff sole and great support!
Size: 11 Color: Dark Brown
I got these to replace a beloved pair of hiking boots that finally died an unceremonious death. First thoughts: T he manufacturing/assembly looks great out of the box. The seams are clean and the stitching is perfect; they are clearly well-made. The outer sole is a nice, grippy rubber. Honestly, it reminds me a lot of the Vibram sole on my deceased pair of boots. Heck the Nortiv logo on the bottom of the boot even looks like a Vibram logo out of the corner of your eye. Fit/Comfort: They're very comfortable. The padding is very generous. The laces are robust and I don't notice my knot slipping with use. I have narrow feet and while the boots feel "spacious", I don't feel my feet sliding around. There's a little padded "cradle" (for lack of a better word) around the achilles, which includes the pull tab. This is a really nice, comfortable touch for me. Performance: I took these for a hike on the frozen shore of Lake Superior (in February). The lake was not frozen, so the waves were splashing, creating lots of ice and frozen stone up on shore. Grip was great. It's not that I didn't slip (the frozen stone shore was incredibly slick), but I felt much better grip than I would have with other footwear, such as my insulated mid-calf rubber boots. My feet stayed dry the entire time. Perfectly drive, even with 33º water splashing over them. This leads to my next observation...these boots were very warm, at least for me. If I didn't know better, I would believe them to be insulated. This is great for February in Michigan, but it does give me some concerns for the warmer months or if I were to take them to Vegas with me in June. I'll report back if there are heat/breathability issues after that trip. Bottom Line: Great boots at a very fair price. Quality workmanship and very comfortable. ... show more
