I have big and wide feet. It isn't easy to find shoes, much less hiking boots. But, these have been great. Easy to get on and off. Easy to tie. Comfortable and sturdy. Handle the job perfectly. But - the way the laces go up is through stitched "loops". And one of the loops "broke" or came loose. So now, I have to rig it to tie it up tightly. And I can't really see that there is a hack or fix to fix it. I'm making it work, but I can see how it could happen again and if so, I'll have a problem. ... show more

The Merrill boots I usually buy are going up in price Soni decided to try this cost effective alternative. Waterproofing equal to the Merrell boots. Not as neatly constructed. Haven't done any real hiking in them and I don't expect them to hold up as well as the Merrell, but they are less than half the price. Unless they disintegrate on me on the trail I'd say it's a good buy for a budget. ... show more

I bought these when they were on sale for less than 40 bucks, and at that price I suppose they're worth it... I normally buy Columbia hiking boots and these don't come anywhere close to those in any way. These are fairly uncomfortable even after wearing them daily for weeks to break em in. They just don't fit well and they're a bit painful after any lengthy amount of time. I wish I hadn't given them the benefit of the doubt and tried breaking them in, so now I can't really return them. I ended up ordering some Columbia Redmond 2 and the difference is night and day. Right out of the box the Columbia boots fit right, feel right, feel natural, feel stable and far more confidence inspiring. Granted they were a lot more expensive ($100 vs $38on sale\$65normally). That said, these nortiv boots are a waste of time and money, just come to terms with the extra cost and buy a proper boot - NOT these. Saving money is not worth constant discomfort, some pain and a lack of confidence in your footwear. I suppose I'll toss them in the trunk of my car to serve as emergency backups ... show more
