Overall, I am happy with this ice machine. The brand name that arrived was something else but it still works. I've had this ice maker for about 8 months now. I have to turn it off and back on every couple of days - something is wrong with the ice bin full switch. Once it is full, it stops as it should but it does not always turn itself back on. I had read about this on a couple other reviews so I know its not an isolated incident. This does not produce ice nearly fast enough to be considered a commercial ice maker but for a family of 5, it works great. I can fill a standard 50 quart ice chest in about 4 hours. If you are going to fill a large ice chest, it will definitely take all day, regularly emptying the bin into the ice chest. The ice scoop that is included is flimsy plastic and not necessarily durable enough to break the ice chunks apart to scoop it out. I upgraded to a stainless scoop from Amazon. As with most ice machines, the cubes do not necessarily break apart from a sheet as they fall into the bin. Especially if the bin is mostly full. *** Be sure to install an inline filter *** I believe the instructions even say to do this. I did not and the calcium buildup killed my water pump. Fortunately I was able to replace the pump fairly easily. If you have to do this, it is a 120v fish tank pump - somewhere around 300 gallon per hour. Comically, I increased the ice production thickness slightly by doing this. Good: Makes ice most of the time. Good quality ice cubes. Far cheaper than a true commercial ice maker. Bad: Ice bin switch often sticks in the off position. Not large enough for a commercial setting. Flimsy ice scoop. ... show more

Lasted just over one year. Had issues pretty early on with the lcd screen. Seems as if it had a a loose connection and require the screen to be moved around to get it to operate.

I have had this ice maker since sept of 2020.. It has produced ice continuously since i installed it.. I am GC in south Florida and we use ice every day for our jobs.. This ice maker fills the bill.. we empty it every day and by noon it is full again.. Highly recommend it.. I have it installed in my garage and hooked to a dedicated water line with a charcoal filter, with a permanent drain thru the wall of my garage. ... show more

I bought this for my husband as a gift. We go fishing and boating a lot, so we are constantly using ice. As we did not have a free water line to hook it up, we bought an adapter (maybe $5 at Lowe’s) and hooked it up to our water hose. We live in Florida and have it on our back lanai. It works well and produces a good amount of ice. We keep the ice set on the thickest setting and it will fill up the bin overnight. The bin keeps the ice from melting pretty well. It’s not meant to keep it frozen. I would compare the bins ability to keep ice cold to a styrofoam cooler. I would not recommend for a busy restaurant, as you do have to give the machine time to make ice, but for filling a cooler or two, it’s great. You just have to make sure to bag up the ice to put in a freezer. We have had this a month now and I am really glad we bought it. ... show more

I had so much resistance about spending so much money on other kitchen ice makers after ours broke. We had it in our budget but I just couldn’t bring myself to pay the thousands it would cost to get the other ones. We ordered this one and were a little concerned about the esthetics and keeping the ice frozen. Needless to say, we LOVE this ice machine ! It makes ice quickly and keeps it frozen for a while ! We are going to get a cabinet door to cover it as it’s a little awkward looking in our kitchen but well worth it ! We have 4 kids so this is awesome. We were so excited for this new machine! Set up was easy and it started making ice right away. When we checked it 2 days later, we noticed that the ice would sustain and would melt, but that there was no drainage/recycle line to remake it to ice. So instead, we had to remove the water line from the gallon and redirect from inside the ice maker to suck up the water ... show more
