After my daughter was lugging around a huge back pack and being hunched over the last 2 years we decided to try out this one. Her schools lockers are crap and none of the students can use them, so she carried everything. I especially liked that this one had support for their back and was good for their posture. She at 1st loved the way it looked but was bitter about giving up space. After losing the debate of going back to her larger old back she gave it a go. There have been no complaints, she is walking straight, not dragging. It fits more then she thought. Her laptop is safe and her books,pens, snacks are all accommodated. Happy 8th grader. I think it would be fine for high school needs as well.

when i got this bag i got it bc i needed a big bag to hold all my school supplies for college and it holds most but very tightly. also the water bottle pockets are very very tight so i would not recommend if you have a large water bottle that you want to put in the pocket
