Having metal detected for over 30 years, I bought this last summer. Ultimately detectors are just computers and if you have an old one it is probably time to replace it. This is a monster detector with the maximum features at a reasonable price. The large coil and the customizable programs makes all the 'hunted out' places new again. There is a bit of a learning curve because every setting you change affects good and bad targets. If you only want a coin shooter machine the cheaper and lighter simplex ultra is probably the way to go. This has features most people will never use. ... show more

If you’re just beginning, please study the manual and read up or watch pros and learn how to detect and skip over junk as opposed to treasure. Once the learning curve is straightened out, you’ll be skipping junk and pocketing more valuables. Uses multiple frequencies, and was able to detect 5 mg gold flake, but don’t count on it for that. This is largely a coin and jewelry detector. Great depth detection. BT headphones are medium tier but are a nice value with all else. ... show more

    • Purchased in March and the Speaker has failed already
As far as finding metal objects underground this machine works great, but unfortunately after about 24 hours of total use the speaker quit working. I think its a great machine overall but I am starting to question its quality. Lets see how the warranty claim process goes
