These fit as we had hoped. Purchased in the size Medium (34-36). My bf is about 5'8, 175lbs and a true size Large and 34-36 bottoms. The drawstring and stretch really allows for the most comfortable fit. Especially if you are between sizes. The material is thin enough for the summer weather here in Florida but sturdy enough that the shorts do not look cheap. The stitching is well done also! The only gripe we have about these shorts is that they are not exactly khaki as pictured in the description. They are closer to a yellow/cream. Which is disappointing because the khaki color is the only reason we needed to order these shorts. Sadly, we will have to find a khaki colored short somewhere else. The green shorts we've ordered however are true to color and I can say the same positive things about the green shorts as I've said about the "khaki" colored shorts. He said the shorts have some stretch to them considering how stiff they look when we first took them out of the packaging. You will see his attempt to show you the movement of these shorts in the photos. The length is also something he mentioned was great about these, they are not too long and not too short! I did alot of research on these before buying because im a bigger guy and i dont usually buy clothes on line in fear of being too small or not fitting right. I was very pleased when these came and fit perfectly, usually with guys my size there is alot of riding in the crotch and the legs are either too long or too short, with these they are not the case. I usually wear size 48 and these fit with plenty of room. The tie cord is strong and quality and they are light and very breezy. If you tucked in the cord they could be worn in less casual situations or even as lounge pants. They are versatile and comfortable. ... show more

    • It's Linen... And the waist band and waist cord have some issues.

It's on me for not noticing that these are linen shorts... which means they look permanently wrinkled unless you want to iron them (and who wants to do that with casual pants). The choice of stitching color is odd... bright red on light gray shorts stands out a bit more than I'd like. But the real problem (aside from the wrinkling), is two fold: A. The waist band elastic apparently isn't tacked in. After only a few wearings, it's warped internally (folded over or twisted). B. The cord is long enough to tie around your waist and use the excess to lace up a pair of hiking boots. Despite that, they are comfortable enough, and they fit the bill OK for their purpose... sitting out a hot COVID summer with excess accumulation of inches from inactivity - but I wouldn't buy them again. ... show more

For casual beach shorts or beach dining these wouldn't be a bad substitute for khaki shorts *IF* you get the right size or enjoy wearing baggy clothes. The material is quite stretchy and the shorts are light. I ordered 2XL based on my waist size as recommended by the size chart but it was just too baggy around the legs. I'm not looking for skinny shorts but the pant leg openings were just as wide at the bottom as they where at the top, so much so that there was no separation between the pantlegs at the bottom and it gave the appearance that I was wearing a kilt. My husband loves these shorts. They are very comfortable & lightweight. Size 38-40 fit perfectly. The color khaki is as shown. My 3 star reflects that they are advertised “linen” shorts. Heads up! They are 60% cotton & 35% linen & 5% something else. The descriptive wording of the shorts is misleading. There is truly very little linen feel to them. I can say my bad for not really reading the detailed material blend but when I saw “linen” I assumed so. That’s the unfortunate part if you’re looking for linen shorts, you’ll get very little with these shorts. Regardless, they wash well on cold & on normal dry. Unless you want a wrinkled short whether you hang to dry them or dry them- these will need to be IRONED. The picture doesn’t clearly show it but a small cuff is around the shorts. Upon ironing that flat & in place because it’s such a small cuff after some wear it doesn’t hold up. It falls flat & doesn’t look right because on both sides of the shorts the cuff is sewn into the short so you have no choice to just wear them flat. A heads up on that as well. I’m writing a mixed review because he likes them but then there are issues. These weren’t expensive so as for quality I got what I paid for. ... show more

Came a little small but not detrimentally so. The material is lightweight and has thus far proven more durable than I expected. If I have one complaint it's that the elastic waist band is not secured in any way so sometimes, especially after a wash, it will be twisted and needs to be manually straightened/flattened out unless you are a monster who doesn't care about such things. ... show more

Okay, so I bought the khaki ones and the white ones. The khaki ones are exactly as expected (not see through and made of good quality) However, the white ones seem a bit thinner (in my opinion) I can see the pockets from outside clearly. Also, I bought these for Maldives and do expect em to get a little wet and can honestly say the white ones will become see through and advertise what I’ve been concealing in public (anyway) lol. Overall a good pair of shorts and will work for the girls occasion that I bought em for - I just don’t see myself wearing the white pair outside too frequently.
