  • Very good controller, not quite like the original though
Edition: Super Mario
So I still give it five stars, but for the people for whom this matters, here's a few drawbacks. 1. The + and - buttons, and the home and screen capture buttons, are all really tall. It's very easy to capture when you're trying to push -. Yes, that's also a problem on the standard black Pro controller, but it's actually worse on this thing. To boot, they're not in exactly the same positions, so they're a little harder to find at first, but you'll get used to it. 2. The flared triggers are also a tradeoff, they feel a little weird, longer, and more clicky than the Pro, but they are very responsive. 3. In the Switch home menu > controllers and grips, every other controller shows a battery bar underneath them, for some reason this one's does not display, so you never know how much battery you have left. Minor issue, but odd. 4. The biggest issue I have with this controller is in the sticks. They are taller, more like original xbox "bread loaf" controllers that had the metal rods, which is not really a big deal, but it feels different. The actual issue is that they don't have the same "fudgy" feeling the Pro controller does when you move off of center. By "fudgy," I mean that feeling of smooth rubber on smooth rubber, with just a smidge of friction. By contrast, this controller has a plastic on plastic feel, and is sticky to the center/neutral position, you have to throw the stick a little farther off center before it registers at all, and there's a bit of a jump from neutral to moving the stick at all, like it has a nub or something on the underside that keeps it centered. Generally speaking, this is not a real issue, particularly for the left stick, which I pretty much use to run full speed in whatever direction I want, and directionally it's very accurate. But when you want a subtle touch, for example aiming with the right stick in Breath of the Wild to ping a really distant shrine, or taking my time in slo mo to get an accurate headshot, it does not have the same gentle touch the Pro controller has for very fine tune aiming. :( I have to bump hard off the current target then come slowly back to the intended target, rather than being able to slowly nudge closer and closer to target. That said, it is not totally debilitating and useless even in this scenario; it's serviceable, just noticeably harder. ... show more

  • It works but it doesn't feel a quality controller
Edition: Super Mario
It seems like the battery drains when it's not in use, but I could be wrong. The charging cable is very small, and it does not show battery status on the switch itself like other controllers. That being said it does work though.

  • Awesome Controller
Edition: Super Mario
Excellent controller. I have another wireless Nintendo Switch so I was expecting to use my big pack of double AA batteries. To my surprise, this controller is chargeable!

  • syncs right up to your switch in seconds
Edition: Super Mario
i charged it to full out of the box before using it. Great battery life. Good buttons. Bought this because i grew tired right away to have to keep taking the joy-cons on and off the controller hub that comes with system and the system itself. This allows you to keep your switch docked and game with a nice one piece controller that runs well with snes, nes classics on online subscription or the switch games themselves. charger can plug right into the side of the switch dock. ... show more

  • Works pretty well (Minus the dpad)
Edition: Super Mario
Pressing up on the DPad takes more effort to make it trigger. And it doesn't tell you how much battery life it has left. But other than that it's a pretty good controller. Works all around properly. (Minus the dpad) Feels good in my hands and it feels very light.
