This case is everything I have been wanting for my Switch. Something simple, thin, and feels premium. I have been holding off on getting a case for my Switch for a year now because every single case has to add gimmicks that I don't care about like game cartridge storage, a zipper, and even having to take the switch out of the case entirely in order to play it or charge it. This case is minimalist, but functional. It lets you charge the Switch when not in use, then you can flip it open with the magnetic lid and get straight to playing. When you're done simply flip the lid closed and throw it in your bag without worrying about the joy sticks getting screwed up. 1000/10 if you are a digital only player or a single game cartridge at a time person

You can use this case with the device inside, but I honestly take it out every time. If you want to open it and play for a few minutes in a game that doesn't really require the shoulder buttons, then I could see myself playing with Switch inside. I honestly, think it shines more as a great case that's perfect to toss the Switch into a bag and go about your day. The shell is VERY sturdy and has hardly any give/play so it would definitely withstand a hard knock. This case is amazing.

This is the most premium looking case on a Nintendo console that I have ever seen! I really didn't think Nintendo was capable of being this chic. It's priced like a freaking Apple product but it's so worth it! The fabric around the case is really grippy but still comfortable to hold. It fits the Switch Lite like a glove and the it's got some decent protection on both the flap and the case body. The flap also feels very sturdy, it doesn't feel like it would rip off without a fight and the edges are magnetised to keep it in place when it's shut. It's no magic Apple flap though and doesn't put the device to sleep or wake it up when opening/closing the flap. The flap doesn't bump too much against my fingers when it's open. Always an inch or two away. I do wish the shoulder buttons were protected but I see why they did it (so you can play while it's in the case) and I'm fine with the compromise. It really hits a sweet spot between lightweight portability and halfway decent protection! You can also still access the USB-C even when closed and the game card slot, headphone jack, top vents, and volume rockers, when it's open. You can't access the MicroSD slot while it's in the case but that's a non-issue for most. There are also cutouts on the back of the case to allow the air vents on the back of the Lite to breathe. It does get warm but not any warmer than the Lite already does, just a different feeling since you're touching warm fabric instead of warm plastic. Unfortunately you can't natively use something like a HomeSpot or other USB-C Bluetooth dongle because they usually have to sit flush against the bottom of the Lite. If you wish to use those you'll need a USB-C extender but that's 2 extra items you'll need to carry around with you while traveling as you don't want them hanging out exposed and possibly knocked around and end up damaging the USB-C port. This is a small issue but one I did encounter during my use. In summary, it is a case with normal case drawbacks. But as far as portability and build quality is concerned, this is the best case on the market. I will still be using my Skullnco Gripcase at home but when I'm out I'm definitely always bringing this along. I even put my Lite in the case at home for storage against dust or just to look at how pretty it is!

If you're looking for a form-fitting Switch Lite case without space for game cards, etc., I can't imagine it being much better designed than this one. Great build quality and adds little bulk. Some might want it in colors (I find the gray nicely grownup) and if there's a Switch Lite 2, they should make it possible for opening and closing the case to turn the Switch on and off.

I’m gonna start by saying this isn’t the cutest case but I knew that going in so I’m not upset about it. The case seems really well made and I appreciate the magnetic lock which keeps the flap closed, but doesn’t automatically put the Switch in sleep mode which, again, I knew going into so no big deal. The flap doesn’t bug me too much when I play; I don’t really notice it. As seen in the pictures, there’s a cut out for the charging port, but the triggers on top are also exposed which is something to keep in mind. There’s little bumps above the joystick to keep the case slim while also protecting to joysticks. It’s definitely not the most protective case so if that’s what you’re looking for, you might want to look into something else. I’m not a big fan of putting cases onto my Switch because it bulks up the Switch which hurts my small hands lol. I bought it for when I’m on the go to make sure my Switch is semi-protected. I’m comfortable putting this in my bag and have no worries. It also came with a film screen protector that I put on just for fun and it seems fine, but it is just a film so don’t expect it to prevent cracks. It’s really only going to prevent scratched which is fine. I wasn’t going to get a screen protector for my Switch because I don’t care for them, but it came with the case so why not. All in all, even though I’m unable to speak for longevity, the case is pretty well put together and I’m excited to use it. I wouldn’t price it at $40, though. $25-$30 seems more reasonable to me, but overall I’m pretty happy with it.
