First off let me say that scalpers and thieves do no reflect on the product and it's purpose. However if you're lucky enough to find this 3 pack for msrp, get it otherwise you're stuck with two options. 1. Paying way to much for what these are worth. Sometimes even quadruple the cost. 2. Waiting for a long time for these to be re-released when they're no longer relevant. I was lucky and the vendor I found was only selling them for about 25 bucks or so above market price, I was glad for that because this game is a must have. I knew from the moment I've heard about this new IP that I wanted it and that I wanted the most playability I can get from Nintendo's newest shooter/ splat'em up. These guys unlock challenges (which you must complete single player campaign first) which you can earn coins and exclusive gear. Not only does this add replay value to the single player campaign when you're done, you get some neat gear to show off online. Boy inkling gives you samurai gear and a roller girl inkling gives you a private/japanese school uniform and a charge rifle. Kraken gives you robotic/cybernetic gear and the hero shot. Outside of that there isn't much else to these things outside of collecting them and looking neat. This is the first set of amiibos I've bought and I'm pretty impressed with the quality and looks of them. However, it'll probably be my only purchase of amiibos since these actually do something outside of just unlocking cosmetics or storing data for Smash Brothers 4. So in summery, if you're not an amiibo collector and have Splatoon, love Splatoon and want to get the most out of the game. Pick these up if you can find the right price. Otherwise you don't really need them to enjoy the game. However, they do add to it significantly. If you want to keep them looking nice, since i dont collect these.I ended up carefully cutting the side of the box open, removed the metal film and put them pack in. I really didn't want to throw away the box plus this keeps it tidy so I don't have them loose and getting banged up. So if you want to use them but can't afford two sets, it's a decent way to display them, with the box art, and still get functionality.

These are great Amiibos to add to your collection. The level challenges that these Amiibo offer are really fun! If you are a fan of the Splatoon game you will find these really entertaining and a plus since you get the figures! The Squid girl challenges change the main weapon for a sniper, this makes it a bit harder if you are used to the common weapons. The Squid boy challenges change the main weapon for a paint roller, in my opinion this was really good because you get to experience these weapons. The Squid amiibo challenges set times to some levels and you have unlimited kraken mode, to my personal opinion this was really entretaining but not as hard as other levels since you can't die. The sad thing is that these are kinda rare and they are selling them 2 and 3 times its price, original price was 30 for the 3 figures. Hopefully they re-stock them soon and re-sellers are forced to sell them to its original price.

This is a review for the product. Not the scalpers, not anything other than the product. These amiibo are absolutely stunning, I managed to get mine for the Retail price upon them going up, and I absolutely love them. They came in a box with my Wario and Pac Man who, unfortunately were not sent to me in the best shape, however, do not believe Amazon is to blame on that one. What people need to understand is, these are hand painted products, meaning they take A LOT of time and effort to make. These are made in the high hundreds if not low thousands at a time, and since they are hand painted, only so many can be made at once. That is where the "scalping" comes into play. People abuse this, and spike the prices up knowing some people will kill for their favorite characters. That is not Amiibo's fault, it's not Nintendo's fault, it is the consumers buying them hundreds at a time, and selling them for nearly twice the price they paid. So, please, when writing these reviews, remember, these reviews are about the product itself, not the scalpers taking advantage of it. If Villager, Marth and Little Mac being reproduced in Japan is any indication, Nintendo is in fact working on it. Calm down.

Packaging: Many people collect amiibos as a collectible item and never remove them from the box. Luckily for me, that isn't the reason I purchased these because the box was not in good condition when it arrived. However, I view packaging as a device to protect the product and this packaging, despite being damaged, did manage to protect the amiibos. Quality: For the most part, amiibos I have seen have been of exceptional quality and detail, much better than figurines I have seen from other companies. In fact, the only real blemish I have seen an any amiibos was on the inkling girl i got in this package. And even then, it's nothing that's a huge deal; the ink tank is just kind of deformed towards the bottom. They all have fairly obvious seam lines in visible areas as well. Each amiibo unlocks a set of gear, a minigame, a weapon skin, and 19,500 gold in the Splatoon video game. The power armor and samurai suit sets have awful clipping problems and therefore look horrible and I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't fixed them. The challenges are fun though and they are a fast method of obtaining in game currency to buy gear and weapons. Value: For the price coming out to about $10 a figure, the quality is about as expected; not completely without faults but built well. Also, the only other way to get the squid amiibo is to buy an import one whick is extremely more expensive. The value I found most compelling was that of the additional unlockable content in the Splatoon video game for Wii U. Each amiibo unlocks a set of gear, a minigame, a weapon skin, and 19,500 gold. The power armor and samurai suit sets have awful clipping problems and therefore look horrible and I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't fixed them. The challenges are fun though and they are a fast method of obtaining in game currency to buy gear and weapons. Overall: -Pros: -Well built -Fun challenges -Fast gold -Cons: -Two armor sets look terrible -Damaged packaging I'd recommend this amiibo set to anybody who has played through the Splatoon storyline and would like a few more challenges or some exclusive gear.

I love the 3 pack of the Splatoon amiibos. The challenges are so much fun and the rewards are awesome! Pros- these amiibos look awesome. The features and detail are great. The challenges for each amiibo are a lot of fun on most of them. You have a different weapon to use for each amiibo. The girl uses a charger gun, boy a roller and the inkling squid a hero splatter shot gun. The inkling squid challenges are different than the other 2 because some are timed and some you have a limited amount of ink to use. The timed ones are super easy because you have the kraken. Cons- the only thing I've found and it's more because I find it almost impossibly challenging is in the squid amiibo challenges with the limited ink they are extremely difficult. I love being challenged but these are extremely hard to beat. Apart from that there is nothing wrong with them.
