    • Really nice coffee maker, pretty good espresso?
Purchased this as a birthday gift for my S/O. She had shown it to me prior, and I like the Ninja brand. After doing some research, I pulled the trigger and I don't regret it. Obviously, I didn't do enough research because I was under the impression that it used Keurig pods - it does NOT. I'm sure it says that somewhere in the product description, but the single-cup brew options with loose coffee and the reusable filter (purchased separately) are awesome. I really like being able to change the brew strength and use whatever amount of grounds I want. It's nice not to be generating a bunch of pod-trash all the time. Obviously, there is still some on the espresso side. It uses the original Nespresso pod design (not the "bubble" design they have currently) and I haven't used the espresso side yet but my old lady enjoys it. The built-in milk frother is a cool idea, but according to her doesn't have a whole lot of power so she bought a different one to use. All the other features are great (the built in dual-size scoop and the fold-down cup tray on the coffee side). It's easy to clean up, and makes a solid pot of coffee pretty quick. This is the best coffee maker! Best of both worlds with brewed pot and pod coffee. We love Nespresso pods and I like the option of brewing a whole pot of coffee in the morning. I love all of the settings, from a tiny espresso to a full glass of iced coffee to a full pot of coffee that I sip all morning long. I love the look. It is Very easy to use and I use the frother to mix in my protein powder in my coffee, each morning. I also used it to whip up a little heavy cream and sugar for barista style coffee goodness. It did thicken it and mix, but no stiff peaks, more of a poorable thick goodness. The frother does not heat up. The coffee is very hot. Tastes awesome! It’s just perfect. Good quality. We’ve been using it daily for last 3 months. Get it! You will love it too! ... show more

So easy to set up and use! Coffee is great every time. It’s easy to stop and pour with the carafe and it does have the 3 hour auto shutoff, so that’s good also. Definitely recommend this machine

I've used both the drip and the Nespresso pod in the machine, and used the delayed brew. No issues at all. Everything works as expected. It took me a little time to figure how much coffee to use for the taste I prefer. But I assume that's normal with most new coffee makers. If you're looking for a strong frothier though, this may not be it. It seems a little less powerful, though it did work. I don't froth milk often, so it's not a deal-breaker for me, and maybe I just have a different expectation. ... show more

    • Ninjas warranty sucks!
So I bought this big beautiful piece of tech because of the features and of course its a ninja. It was awesome until about 2 weeks ago. I moved it to clean and there was a large amount of water hidden under the machine. I thought maybe someone had overfilled the reservoir, so I cleaned it up and never gave it a second thought. The next time I cleaned under the machine, a big puddle again. Hmm. Maybe the capsule collector had a lot of water in it and it leaked. Cleaned it, then I decided to test the reservoir for leaks, nothing. So I made a cup using the nespresso single cup. I lifted the machine and lo and behold water. I tested my theory again, yep water. Last night I called Ninja to find out about the warranty. After much listening and explaining and videoing, the lady says we can have a new one sent to you in 3-5 days. GREAT I say. Then she explains the warranty doesn't cover shipping. $22.95. No problem. Then she tells me BEFORE they can ship it out, I must cut the power cord to my machine....WTF? Um, no I will not! What am I supposed to do for coffee until the new one arrives..sorry, sucks for you. You gotta cut the cord. NO THANK YOU! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NINJA PRODUCT AGAIN!. I have almost every Ninja appliance, buy this has turned me off their products. Buyer beware! ... show more

    • Good but could be better
First: it makes very good espresso. It’s attractive & I’m happy with it BUT, the frother doesn’t warm the cream (espressos aren’t made at an extremely high temperature, so I have to warm my cream in the microwave & I don’t bother blowing cold air into it. Why would anyone do that?) and when using pods, it’s not very “smart”. It will dispense water even if you haven’t put a new pod in (Kuerigs won’t do that). So, for the price, those 2 things should be corrected. ... show more

Easy to use, has brew timer and warming feature if you don't want a room temperature cup of coffee. The espresso side was disappointing as I discovered I don't like espresso nearly as much as I vaguely recalled.

I love it. It makes great coffee in a wide range of sizes, the nespresso function works great, the milk frother works great and is easy to clean. The coffee brews and stays very hot.
