  • I LOVE THIS COOLER!!!
Color: Beige Size: 36 Can
This arrived two days before our 10 hour road trip so I was really able to test it out and could not be happier!! I wanted something that would do exactly what this one does - with the separation of dry cold and wet cold items. It also doesn’t take up much space so we put it in the middle rear seat so it would be easy to get to the bottom for snacks throughout the drive. It keeps everything soooo nice and cold and is extremely sturdy and durable!! It looks nice and it comfortable to wear. The bottle opener came in hand when we needed to open bottled sodas. Anyway, I am so happy I came across this compact (yet roomy) backpack cooler!! ... show more

Color: Blue Size: 24 Can
Love this backpack cooler. Would have given it a five star but the ice does not last as long as they say. Lasted about 4 hours .

  • Ninja quality and design.
Color: Dark Grey Size: 36 Can
TLDR: Build quality, materials, & functionality make this worth paying more for. I have the hard version of this cooler with the Frost Vault drawer and love it. This soft backpack cooler is similar, in that the cooler is divided into two sections, with the lower one intended to be used for items that you wouldn’t want floating in water while still keeping them cool at refrigerator temps or colder if the included ice packs (or any others you may have on hand) are used. I do believe this separate compartment is quite a game changer for how you use your cooler. Both compartments are quite roomy, the overall size of this backpack is really pretty large, and will easily hold enough to take care of a days worth of food for a family of 4. You also get some silicone grease for the zippers to lubricate them as needed. I’ve got several other soft sided backpack coolers of this same basic design, and TBH, Ninja’s is constructed better than all of them, inside and out. Where sewn, the stitching is precise. All seams are welded. The whole bag is very sturdy and structurally stable. The bottom Frost Vault door is framed and its roof is stiffened so it won’t collapse when top section is loaded with ice and heavy items. The bottom of the cooler itself is a hardened rubber that won’t puncture easily and provides some grip. The fabric on the sides is thick heavy duty canvas that will stand up to all sorts of abuse. The zippers are both of the waterproof variety and include heavy duty pulls to make them easier to grab and manipulate. I’ve got another similar bag where similar zippers began to separate from waterproofing rubber in extreme desert heat due to being multiple interlocking layers - this zipper won’t do that. The bottom compartment has elastic bands on sides to hold your ice packs in place. The back panel is padded and has an air channel for ventilation, and the shoulder straps are pretty heavily padded and comfortable enough for a few miles when the cooler is full. There’s also an adjustable chest strap. A number of my coolers have a bottle opener on the somewhere, but this one is by far the easiest to use and access. The two side pockets are the same sort of very stretchy mesh that’s on many of backpacking packs and will easily expand to accommodate a good sized water bottle, utensil bags, whatever. Ignore the review that says they’re only good for small flat items - simply not true. One minor issue - the Chill Seal claim for the lid - this might be true if the insulated part of the lid fit more tightly into the cooler body. I think the claim on that there’s little to no difference in effectiveness whether zipped or not is false. It behaves just like all the others in this regard, and I’d keep it zipped if it’s a major concern. All in all, this is well designed, superbly constructed, and includes a few small details that make it stand out from the competitors. You’re paying for quality and functionality that is, at least to me, easy to see and feel when you’ve got a few others to compare it to. ... show more

  • Possibly the Best Cooler I've Used
Color: Beige Size: 24 Can
The Ninja FrostVault Backpack Cooler is possibly my favorite cooler of all time, combining awesome versatility and top-notch insulation to make a truly excellent cooler! In the month or so that I've owned this cooler, my family has used it extensively; taking it on a camping trip, on a beach vacation to Florida, boating, and in our neighborhood. In all situations this cooler has exceeded my expectations. ►Versatility: My favorite feature of this cooler is its versatility. A big part of that is the fact that it's a backpack cooler, which I actually already owned before using the FrostVault, but barely use. This cooler has so much more than just backpack straps, including the dry storage section, a built-in bottle opener, and two large mesh pockets. In addition, there's of course the top ice chamber, and waterproof everything. ►Ice Retention: In hot, humid Florida and Missouri weather, this cooler performed like an absolute champion. Is it as good as a molded polyethylene cooler with high-density foam? No. Obviously no. But for a soft-sided/semi rigid cooler, this is as good as it gets without as much name-brand price inflation as Yeti. ►Experience with the FrostVault: • Scenario 1: Family fun day in Florida. We packed our FrostVault with Gatorade, water bottles, a soda or two, and plenty of ice and headed out for a day of miniature golf, go-karting, bumper boats and all the beach touristy stuff you can imagine. The FrostVault stayed in our rental car which was mostly parked in direct sunlight all day long. Our drinks remained ice cold and there was plenty of ice thrown out at the end of the day. • Scenario 2: Beach day in Florida. Again, we loaded up our FrostVault with drinks and sandwiches and some temperature-sensitive snacks and headed out. Again, the cooler performed great and kept our supplies cold and ready to enjoy! ►Dry Storage Drawer/Compartment: I'm going to give the dry storage compartment its own shout-out because after using it it is, in fact, awesome. It's exactly what the name implies—an area to keep things cold and dry, separate from the ice compartment. It comes with two reusable freezer packs that are snuggly held on the sides with two straps. This compartment held most of our food and snacks on our recent beach trip and worked so well that it'll be difficult to select another cooler to use because of it. ►Closing: I would absolutely recommend this cooler, in particular, if you're considering traveling with a cooler. I would select the FrostVault over a similarly sized Yeti. ... show more
