Please remember these are compostable and biodegradable. They are NOT plastic bags that last forever in our environment These bags hold up very well IF you don’t order so far in advance that they start to disintegrate when you use them. It says on the box “Purchase only as many as you can use in 9 months.” We also put old newspapers or magazines in the bottom of the bag to prevent wetness causing disintegration of the bag, this is also stated on the box. We use only 2 bags per week so one box of 15 bags will last almost4 months. That’s it, we do not order again until there only 2 bags left. Why did you pick this product vs others?: I've used these bags a lot and never had one break. I've even left them out in the rain and sun without them breaking, the only issue I've had with them is the tie straps break pretty easily. Been using these for years. Great for collecting organic kitchen waste, whether for the local recycle facility or your backyard compost heap. Also good for regular trash of course. Love the drawstring. Have only had one or two that the waste melted through the bag. We line the kitchen bins with regular plastic bags as a backup (and leave them there). Good product, and it feels good to do something (however small) that drops at least a few bags from the worlds trash piles. ... show more

    • Diameter of bags from our last two boxes is too small, rip when trying to fit over can.

We purchased these multiple times over for the past couple of years without issues (maybe an occasional ripped seam or torn top if too heavy, but manageable). However, the last two boxes we purchased seem to have bags with a smaller diameter than the previous bags, have to be stretched too much to fit over our standard kitchen can, and every single bag tears at the seam. It has been a disaster... literally. I hope the company can sort this out, but I don't feel like I can take a chance on another bad round of bags. The bags need to be larger diameter, as the compostable material cannot withstand being stretched and pulled to fit over the can. ... show more

These are great. Among the trash bags that I've tried, these hold up and work as great as one would hope for a compostable bag. The only minor inconvenience is that it comes in a box that doesn't have an opening to put them out easily. I just cut a rectangle into one side and it works just fine. I reuse the same box, I just transfer a new roll into it each time. Makes me feel like a total boss. ... show more

    • Drawstrings rip every time, not heavy duty at all

These bags are the worst compostable bags I've ever used. The drawstrings rip away from the bag nearly every time I go to seal the bag. They are extremely thin, and so they frequently get holes. They are not "heavy duty" as the title suggests, and I often had to double-bag my compost before taking it out, otherwise there would have been a mess of drippings all through my house.
