Bought these work boots for my husband on a whim. Fantastic decision. He works on his feet all day, in a hazardous environment. He needs ankle support, often comes home in pain. These boots have been a huge help, excellent ankle support, lightweight, with a great/substantial footed. Of course, we dumped the original inserts and bought a great pair of specialty inserts, but if you're on your feet all day, you should be doing that anyway. Will they last a long time? No clue, but for now, we're happy to take our chances.

This review is for the NINGO Composite Toe Boots for Men, Waterproof Work Boots with Side Zipper, Non Slip and Puchture Proof Protection, Lightweight Design, 8'' Leather Safety Shoes for Construction, Industrial, Outdoor. The Good: ASTM F2413-18 certified composite toe, sturdy, easy on-off, great fit. The Bad: Very stiff out the box, takes some breaking in. The Ugly: Nothing. The Long Review: First off - make sure you're getting what you need. These are ASTM F2413-18 certified composite toe boots, which means they are *not* steel capped. If your job requires a steel cap, you need to look elsewhere. With that out of the way, let's talk about these work boots. First and foremost is the fit - I am a 10.5w (extra-wide, to be exact) and I normally have to order anything from an 11-12 for boots to fit properly. So with these, you can imagine my surprise when what I ordered (10.5w) fit me without any issue at all! Lace-up was quick and easy, adjustment was a breeze, and once they were all set, a quick unzip and they came off quick and easy. However, as I've worn boots like these before, just be aware the boot may outlast the sole (which you can replace if you can find a good shoe guy), and more importantly (for me at least) the velcro piece that goes over top the side zipper. I don't know why they bother with that piece, it's a waste of leather, and always fails after about a year; then you have this floppy piece of leather getting in the way of your pants legs constantly, or sticking out awkwardly if you tuck in your pants cuffs. As soon as they fail, it's the first thing I remove with a knife. The other issue I ran into is a very typical issue - these are STIFF. The break-in period (I'm estimating here, because I haven't broken mine in - yet) is probably about a solid week, possibly two, of wearing them for 10+ hours daily. But aside from being very stiff, the comfort was impressive for a work/combat style boot. The soles have good tread and traction, and definitely give you confidence over a variety of ground. Final Thoughts: These aren't steel-tipped, but the composite toe is more comfortable. If you don't NEED steel-toe boots, give these a try for some extra comfort.

These work boots by Ningo appear to be exactly as advertised. They are surprisingly lightweight for such a substantial boot. They are well made and rugged. The toe is reinforced and the sole is thick with impressive tread. The inside of the boots are nicely padded for comfort. On top of that, they are a good looking boot. One favorite feature of these boots is the side zipper. After lacing and tieing them the way I like, I remove the boots by unzipping the side zipper and slipping them off. I slip them on the same way. They remain laced and tied the way I like every day. After zipping, put the velcro strap into place to keep the zipper locked in place. Another good feature is the strength of the non-leather material. In photos it looks like canvas but it's actually heavy, firm and rugged. It won't rip or tear. The leather and fabric together keep my feet dry, though, so far, I've only dealt with thick morning dew out in the fields and an occasional puddle. I can't vouch for "puncture proof" yet. There is the occasional mishap with machinery here on the farm, but the most likely puncture I face is snake bites. I'm fairly confident the copperheads and cottonmouths in my area can't bite through these boots. I won't tempt them, but will be more relaxed than in my previous ankle-high boots. My typical size for decades has been 12 but, after reviewing the Ningo size chart, decided on 13. They fit comfortably. The reinforced toe doesn't let me press down to see where my toe is, so I can't say if a 12 would've fit. I can say I walk comfortably in the 13's and am happy with that choice. All in all, I'm thrilled with these boots. They get me where I need to be and protect me while I'm there. It's a lot of boot for the price.
