Bought this thing more for decoration than function if I'm being perfectly honest, but I'm actually super impressed at how beefcake it actually is. I'm not going to chain up to a stump and test it for it's breaking point in thousands of pounds but it feels like it's probably capable of quite a lot. Color is nice on the blue, paint job is respectable. The little rubber shackle guard is classy too- nice touch. It's not too rattly in and of itself but being a SOLID shank, there's no clever way to use an anti-rattle hitch pin, but so be it. This thing is HEAVY. Like BEEFCAKE. Fits a standard receiver just fine, no complaints. In my application, the shank could have been a little shorter, but again- it's for decoration more than anything so perhaps I'll just saw for 3 hours to take a couple inches off and then drill for another couple of hours to move the pin hole up a little. Or maybe I'll just let it ride, instead. ... show more

It is a good product at the sale price. Would be 4 stars at the $11 higher regular price. It is a solid piece, not hollow. Drilled so it can be used horizontally or vertically. I haven't scratched up the finish yet so it seems pretty durable. I use this with tractors to move logs, etc. The little plastic protector is meant to reduce noise when itis attached to a truck but it would be destroyed pretty quickly if you leave it on, especially if you use chains to pull. The box was a little dinged up when I got it but the parts inside were OK. The hitch pin clip is hidden in the foam so don't miss that. There is about 3/16" of play in the vertical and horizontal directions so this will rattle a little if you drive with it installed. ... show more

I was surprised by the quality of this item and the ease of use.. so many different yet very similar ways to “Hook It And Book It”! But seriously great piece/value, quality, cost, usage, and just over all look is appealing! Plus the quality lock included is worth it on its own, TBH!

Even before I opened the shipping box I knew this had to be a monster. So heavy, so solid, so strong I'm sure my truck would fall to pieces before this would. I was surprised on how well it was coated/painted... the finish quality was really nice. As shown in the advertisement the hitch pin is included, and since you need it, that's a nice touch. Be advised, the locking spring clip pin is somewhat hard to see in the box, in a slot within the cushioning materials. It's there. Feels really solid! Works great for my needs. I towed an F-150 backwards out of deep sand with this and the alltop rope & soft shackles. Budget recovery great definitely has a place. If you're driving a fully loaded overland rig through mud bogs, then you should probably invest in serious over-head rated gear. For midsize truck/jeep that might just need a tug now and then these things are perfect. ... show more
